Please meet Suzanne

Image

This lovely B-II Sasha studio doll is named Suzanne. Suzanne recently arrived and I am thrilled to have her here at Sasha Shangri-La. ❤

Suzanne’s gingham outfit is original to her. 😊

Hidden behind her pinafore is beautiful smocking.

Smocking also on the back of her dress.

Her Sasha label along the back hemline. I turned the hem up to take the photo which is why you see the smocking.

Turning back the clock to last October, I first met Suzanne at Dorisanne ‘s lovely home when Janet and I paid a visit. You might remember that I adopted Bertie Karli from Dorisanne at that time. Bertie is a molded head boy that captured my heart. I brought Bertie home then but Dorisanne kindly accepted a layaway for Suzanne. This photo shows us together admiring the dolls. It was such a happy visit. ❤

Suzanne has a nice mohair bear friend to keep her company.

Suzanne is in excellent condition. She was made in the early 1950’s. We are both 1950’s girls. 😉

What s pretty girl.  Her smocking is shown on page 82 of the Sasha Clothing and Patterns book.  See below.

A wonderful book authored by Ann Chandler, Susanna Lewis, and Anne Votaw. 😊

Suzanne ❤

I took a couple of close-up photos to show her eye painting.

Suzanne and I thank you for visiting with us today. We hope you enjoyed this post.  We wish you a blessed week to come. 😊 xxx

Note:  A few Waterlogue images to enjoy.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Image

You may remember Minnie, my mini me. After naming her, I learned that she was previously a member of Kendal’s lovely Sasha brood and her name was Lucy.  Since my name is Lucile Virginia, (Ginger is a life-long nickname), Minnie will now be named Lucy.  It is a perfect name for my mini me. 😊

Lucy and I want to wish you a lovely and Happy Valentine’s Day.  She has a cute, red Steiff bear as a present from Mommy’s recent auction trip and the hand blown red glass heart was made at a local glass factory called Blenko.  ❤

Beautiful Lucy.

Lucy is wearing a fantastic outfit made by the talented seamstress Maureen Hallenbeck. I love this outfit from the top of her headband, to the bottom of her pant’s hem. A dainty lace trimmed collar and pants cuffs are a very feminine touch and aren’t the buttons just the best! ❤

I hope you like to see Lucy from different angles.  Due to the unfriendly weather, my photos were necessarily taken indoors.

Lucy is an amazing Sarah Williams re-root and was a previous 1969 Gregor. Oh what a change is there!  Her hair is truly remarkable and she is a perfect model. I love her. ❤ ❤

Beautiful pants with tuck pleating and lace trimming. Maureen’s attention to detail is much appreciated. ❤ Lucy’s red leather shoes and white socks are from Ruthdolls.  ❤

It is also Ash Wednesday today which begins our season of Lent.  Easter will be here before we know it! 😊

Lucy and I want to thank you for visiting with us today.  We wish you a happy day and week to come. 😊 xxx

p.s. Waterlogue images of dear Lucy ❤

Bearing the Cold with Bears

Image

First, it is so cold here on Cow Creek today.  It was 20 degrees Fahrenheit when we decided to bear the  elements and take a few photos.

Hannah is happy to get her new brown Steiff bear after Mommy returned from last week’s Doll auction in Ohio. Mommy won more bears than dolls. ❤

Hannah is wearing a wonderful knitted bunny hat knitted by Ellen Church.  I do not know who made her warm sweater and slacks. Her light tan suede boots were made by Jean Jensen.

Please excuse the stray hairs that are due to the winds and also due to my glasses fogging up because it was so cold.  I did my best.

I love Hannah’s beautiful hair and eyes. ❤

Hannah sends hugs to you. ❤

Hazel, a Gotz no navel girl, also wanted to go outdoors on this very cold day.  Brrrrr…..

Hazel is wearing a lovely cord dress made by Ruthsdolls and recently bought from Linda Simpson. Her pinafore is also made by Ruthsdolls but was purchased at the festival last year in Washington DC. Her white leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen.

Hannah is so happy with her new Steiff bear that Mommy brought back from the auction.  😊

Hazel also wants to send you hugs. ❤

All of us here at Sasha Shangri-La want to thank you for visiting with us today and we hope you have a wonderful weekend and week to come. 😊 xxx

A couple of Waterlogue images to share with you. ❤❤

Baby Sends Love to You ❤️

Image

My name is Baby and it is snowing ❄️ today at Sasha Shangri-La here on Cow Creek.  As I sit on the window sill and see such a snowy scene, my heart sends love to you. ❤️

Mommy told me that love knows no boundaries. So, up and above the snow clouds my love is soaring your way.  ❤️

As the beautiful snow gathers to cover up the familiar sights on Cow Creek, love is coming to you. ❤️

I think you can see the snow flakes falling in this last photo and I hope you can feel my heartfelt love.  Thank you for visiting today and I hope you have a happy day and week to come. ❤️ xxx

p.s.

Mommy gently reminded me to thank Janet Myhill-Dabbs for my beautiful eyes that look out on the world so big, my blue felt shoes that keep my feet toasty warm, and my Dollie that touches my heart.  Also, I want to thank Karen Warnaka for making this most beautiful dress that reminds me of our happy life outdoors here on Cow Creek. ❤️

❤️❤️❤️

Sasha Shangri-La’s First Born in 2018

Image

Please meet this very sweet wide faced fringe girl that has just made a journey across the pond and she is now free from her wrappings.  She is overjoyed to be here today!   I redressed her in this warm and toasty corduroy outfit made by Jackie Hyatt and a lovely knitted sweater by Christine Durand.

I added a pair of pretty knitted socks and dark olive leather Sashapotamus shoes with bright pink ties.  After the ribbons were placed in her hair, I only added her cow puppet to play with. ❤️

A close up photo.

Very nice eye and brow detailing. ❤️

What is your name little one?  Please tell Mommy.

Mommy, you know my name is Clare. 😊

Boy it is sure cold outside. Mommy said it is best to stay indoors. Brrrrrrr.  I took my coat off, okay?

I hope we can go for a walk soon.  I love playing outdoors! 😊

Clare and I both thank you for visiting with us today. We hope you enjoyed this post. ❤️

We are sending you hugs and wishes for a very Happy New Year! ❤️

Bye bye everyone! I hope to see you again soon!  😊 xxx
