Please Welcome Gertie and Heidi to Sasha Shangri-La

Image

image

This is my darling Gertie that was repainted by Janet Myhill-Dabbs recently.  She is a twin to Janet’s “Edith” and they were both on display at the recent Sasha Celebration weekend in the UK.  Gertie has really touched my heart in a very special way. ❤

image
Gertie came to me in this lovely outfit and it is perfect with her coloring. ❤

image

A nice closer view of Gertie.  She was previously a Pinntucks girls before her repainting.  Janet dyed her wig and styled it into plaits which I love ❤

image
Gertie was barefooted so I added the hand knitted socks and nice leather JJ shoes.

image

A side view of Gertie.  Gertie was inspired by a vinyl girl that sold on ebay recently and she was handpainted by Sasha Morgenthaler. 🙂

image

A closer view of Gertie.  It was windy that day so please ignore the wayward hairs strands.

image

Another full length view of sweet Gertie. ❤

image

She looks nice with her plaits behind her shoulders too.  I am totally smitten and so I took many photos. ❤

image

A real close-up photo for you to see.  I am so amazed at Janet’s artistic talents and her other talents too. 🙂

image

This sweet girl is Heidi and she was previously a 70’s Trendon girl and Janet has wonderfully repainted her face. ❤

image

Some of you may have seen Heidi on facebook where Janet showed her in this farm pants outfit with duffle coat.  Also, some of you may have seen Heidi on display at the recent Sasha Celebration weekend.  Heidi’s eye painting was inspired by a very early Gotz girl that sold on ebay recently and that girl was wearing this outfit. 🙂

image
Heidi’s dress was made by Frances Trickett. If you look closely, you will see tiny little beads that line the neck and arm openings on this wonderful dress. Such nice detailing. Heidi’s white leather sandals were made by Jean Jensen. 🙂

image
A closer view of Heidi’s pretty face. 🙂

image
I took a few photos of Heidi with Gertie. They both traveled to Sasha Shangri-La in the same box and have become great friends! 🙂

A full length view of Heidi and Gertie. 🙂

image
Hi there girls, are you taking-in your new surroundings? 😉

image

A final photo and both girls and I want to kindly thank you for visiting us here at Sasha Shangri-La.  We are sending you big hugs and happy wishes for a wonderful weekend to come! 🙂 xxx

A Pearl on my Porch

Image

image
Hello little one, have you lost your way?

image
I will help you find your way home. 😉

image
Do you remember where you came from dear one? ❤

image
“Hi, I think I have come a long way. My home was in the UK. Where I am today?” she politely asked. 🙂

image
That explains why I found you in a box on my porch Tuesday.  You were mailed to me from the UK.  You are now in the USA.

My dear girl, this is a farm known as Sasha Shangri-La.   I am your new Mummy and I will care for you.  Do you like your new outfit?

image
“Yes, I love this pretty dress and the shoes and socks fit me perfectly. Thank you so much dear Mummy” she sweetly said. ❤

image

Please meet my precious Pearl. She is a 1966 graphic eyed NP.   I am so lucky and so very happy (ga-ga happy) to add Pearl to the Sasha Shangri-La family. 🙂

More photos of sweet Pearl. ❤

Thank you for visiting us here on the farm.  I hope you enjoyed this post. Pearl and I both wish you a very wonderful weekend. 🙂 xxx

No Navels in the Snow

Image

image
There are two no navel Gotz Sasha dolls that live here at Sasha Shangri-La. I haven’t shown this sweet pair in a while and they were both getting stir crazy! So, here they are! 🙂

image
Hazel is sitting in the sled and sister Sarah is pulling her…or trying to pull her! We are very happy that the snow stopped falling and the beautiful sun peeked out today! 🙂

image
These girls look so small compared to their snowy landscape. Their sled tended to sink into the deep snow.

image
So they tried some of the areas where the snow was compacted by tire treads.

image
This worked much better! 🙂

image
Wee!!!!! They love the snow! ❤

image
A last look at the snowy scenery.

image
My son was outdoors with me to help shake the snow off of the lower tree limbs. So he took a photo of Mom with a very big smile and having a great day outdoors with Sasha dolls. A very happy Mom thanks you for visiting and wishes you a happy weekend!!! 🙂 xxx

Sisters at Sasha Shangri-La

Image

image
This is a very sweet young lady named Tilly. She is an English production, 1967 NP girl and she has just learned that a new sister has arrived at Sasha Shangri-La. 🙂

image
Tilly’s dark green cord dress, socks and shoes were made by Ruth’s dolls. Her colorful and interesting pinafore was made by Molly.

image
Tilly is happily thinking about her new sister and wonders when they will meet because Mummy said it would be soon. 🙂

image
“I do hope my new sister will arrive soon!  I love her already. ❤

image
This is Zoey, a 1967 English production NP.  Zoey was a Christmas present from my husband.  I love her. ❤

image
Zoey is wearing a lovely studio outfit made by Heidi Wheeler.  Her white leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen. 🙂

image
A very pretty outfit for little Zoey.  She is a pleasure to dress. 🙂

image
Zoey is so excited because she has just learned she has a new sister!  Zoey wondered what her new sister would be like and thought “Oh joy!  I can’t wait to meet her!” 🙂

image
Quite alone and very, very, very shy is a most sweet, little girl who is wondering where she is and she just feels like crying. 😦

image
“My new Mummy cleaned me up, brushed my hair and tied with with a ribbon, and dressed me in this new outfit by Ruth’s Dolls. I think it is a lovely dress and it fits me perfectly as do my new leather shoes. Mummy was very loving but I am alone now and I wonder what will happen next!” 😦

image
“Mummy did say my new sisters will be here soon to greet me but I am a bit afraid. Will they like me?”

image
Next, dear Tilly happily greeted her new sister and shared that she was thrilled to meet her.  She said “my name is Tilly.  What is your name sweet sister?” 🙂

image
At first, Tilly’s sister said nothing and she felt she had lost her voice and could not speak. 😦

image
Tilly looked kindly and said, “Please do not be shy. You are much loved here at Sasha Shangri-La.” Tilly comforted her sister.

image
Having heard Tilly’s voice, Zoey joined them and reached out to assure her new sister that she was part of a loving family. ❤

image
Then Zoey said “Welcome dear sister! My name is Zoey and please tell us your name.”

image
So the newest sister, a shy one, finally mustered up a very, very soft response “Jessie”.

image
A closer look at three 1967 NP girls, Tilly, Jessie, and Zoey.

image
Jessie is just the sweetest little girl. She is a bit of a waif with her cut hair and her more than fair share of rubs and dings caused by being a doll of play. I was lucky to adopt her from Shelly’s site and I absolutely adore her!!!

image
Then, without any hesitation, Tilly removed her pinafore and lovingly gave it to Jessie. She explained to Jessie that she wanted to give her something to help her feel like she belonged in her new family. 🙂

image
Tilly said “Jessie, please put it on and when you wear it, please think of me, your sister that loves you! ❤

image
So Jessie put on the gifted pinafore with help from her sisters. Tilly and Zoey both told her how pretty she looked. Jessie felt very pretty. 🙂

image
They asked Jessie if she liked her pinafore and after a moment, Jessie said  “Yes, thank you!”

image
Shy little Jessie is now starting to feel at ease and at home. She really likes her new sisters Tilly and Zoey. She likes her new Mummy too. She thinks she is a lucky little girl. 🙂

image
Jessie realized that she was overwhelmed in her heart with beautiful feelings of love for her family and she thought “I am loved” ❤

image
Next, Zoey came to Jessie’s side and gave her a wonderful teddy. 🙂

image
Zoey shared ” I have loved this teddy for a long time and I want you to have him Jessie. When you give him hugs, think of me and know that you are loved.” ❤

image
Jessie softly said “Thank you Zoey”

image
Jessie feels very happy now. She has a new outfit, a new pinafore, a new teddy and all are gifts from her loving family. ❤

image
“Wow wee, I feel loved!” Jessie exclaimed. ❤

image
Thank you for visiting Sasha Shangri-La today and I hope you enjoyed this post. Jessie sends you a big hug and happy wishes for the week to come! 🙂 xxx

Sasha Shangri-La Blonde Boys

Image

image
I thought I would share photos of the blonde boys that call Sasha Shangri-La their home. This tiny boy is Joey a 1970’s PJ boy. He is wearing a gorgeous sweater and hat wonderfully made by Diane Duke.  I love the colors and pattern.  I am not certain about the maker of his trousers.  His brown leather boots are made by Ruthsdolls. ❤

image
Joey is a sweet boy and has a very tender heart. ❤

image
A closer view of Joey.

image
Next is a new blonde boy that came in his tube and blue denims outfit minus his sandals. I have not cleaned him yet but I think he is a handsome boy.  I added this wonderful red cardigan knitted by Diane Duke and the red leather boots made by Jean Jensen.

image
He is the number one purchase for 2015 for those of us keeping a tally. 🙂

image
A closer view of this unnamed boy. ❤

image
Here is Ryder, a Gotz straight nosed boy from the 1960’s. He is most certainly a blonde and so was happy to join in the counting of blonde boys. He is wearing a gorgeous knitted mini sweater and hat that is based on Kaffe Fassett’s popular Persian Poppy sweater.  It was expertly knitted by Diane Duke.  I love this woolen creation and its intricate design very much! His jeans were made by Millie Dingham. ❤

image
Ryder is a handsome boy too!

image
A closer view of Ryder. 🙂

image
The last, but certainly not least, blonde boy is Finn, a 1967 NP. He is wearing a lovely hat and matching sweater jacket that I was lucky to win as a helper at the festival last summer. The maker is unknown. His pup Fetch rarely leaves his side. 🙂

image
It is nice to dress warmly in the winter and Fetch is happy to be next to Finn. 🙂

image
A closer view of my beloved Finn. ❤

image
Blonde boys all in a row. 🙂

image
A closer view of the boys. 🙂

image
I wanted to point out in this photo the size of little Joey on the right. You can see how petite he is next to his new brother that was made in 1970.  I think Joey was made later in the 1970’s and his stringing is white but replaced. How interesting they are to see side by side. 🙂

image
Oh my, who do we have here? Why it’s a new toddler, Erik!  Erik, you are not a blonde boy and this is a blonde boy post!

image
“Mummy, please let me stay here with the boys. I do not have blonde hair and I do not have brunette hair and my hair is not red, so where do I fit in?”  (I bought Erik last month from a dear friend.  I have no boy toddler clothes for him to wear and so he remains in his cute original outfit).  I asked little Erik, “What color is your hair little one?”

image
“I think my hair is a sandy brown Mummy. May I please stay with the blonde boys?”

image
Next all of the boys asked me to leave little Erik with them. They said that Erik’s hair is blonde! Well sort of blonde Mummy!

image
Well, how could I say no to these sweet boys??

image
Little Joey loves Erik. ❤

image
Love the boys!

image
The blonde boys here at Sasha Shangri-La send you hugs and happy wishes for a great week to come! Thank you for visiting! 🙂 xxx
