A Foggy Morning Focus

I took a day off from work today to expand my leave for the Labor Day holiday weekend from three days to four days. I plan to go outdoors but a blanket of fog has settled in and so I thought why not take random photos indoors while waiting on the sun to break through the foggy line between earth and sky. 🙂

The first photo is of the resident NPs waiting in a row. Hello girls! ❤

Now we see a line of 1968 children with the exception of the blonde boy Finn on the far right who is a 1967 child. ❤

A bit snug here but much loved children in front of my much loved course dolls. ❤

Mostly Gotz girls here excepting Baby Pixie and three of Janet Myhill Dabbs’ renditions. ❤

The lovely Hazel (blonde) and Marcie (both Gotz no navels) and the handsome Ryder (straight nose Gotz) sweetly look over the heads of the resident toddlers. Dear little Esther has yet to be introduced on the blog but she will be soon. ❤

My bedside buddies are sweet Gertie and Lizzy that were repainted by Janet. Please excuse the bedroom clutter that seems to always be present where the dolls live and are loved. ❤

I am taking a small liberty and sharing just a few of the other residents here on the farm. I hope you enjoy seeing them too. 🙂

Lastly, it is shoe week on facebook so I thought I would share my solution to Sasha shoe storage with you. 🙂

These are fishing tackle boxes that I found in our local Walmart some time ago. I was in that department with my dear husband who loves to fish. I bought two to try out and they are wonderful! They are also inexpensive, are see-through on all sides, stackable, portable, very accessible (in local Walmart and Magic Mart too), and importantly, they have adjustable partitions to move and fit your shoes, boots, etc. I now have a lot of these boxes and they work very well and snap open and shut easily. 🙂

Water, Water, and More Water, Water, Water…

We are experiencing extraordinary rainfall in July. It has rained every day and many days we have had major downpours along with the expected thunder and lightening. I am reminded of the old saying “Rain, rain go away…come again some other day!” Since I am not able to take photos outdoors, I have been playing with a new computer application that transforms a photograph into a work of artistic expression. Specifically, this program creates a “water” color expression of a photo and I have to say that this “water” medium is most appropriate at this time and it is also a wink and a nod towards our dreary weather. 😉 So, making the best of a bad weather situation, I hope you have a substantial sized cup of tea and/or coffee to sip while you sit back, relax and view this substantial sized post. Please Welcome Gertie and Heidi to Sasha Shangri-La

This is my darling Gertie that was repainted by Janet Myhill-Dabbs recently. She is a twin to Janet’s “Edith” and they were both on display at the recent Sasha Celebration weekend in the UK. Gertie has really touched my heart in a very special way. ❤

Gertie came to me in this lovely outfit and it is perfect with her coloring. ❤

A nice closer view of Gertie. She was previously a Pinntucks girls before her repainting. Janet dyed her wig and styled it into plaits which I love ❤

Gertie was barefooted so I added the hand knitted socks and nice leather JJ shoes.

This sweet girl is Heidi and she was previously a 70’s Trendon girl and Janet has wonderfully repainted her face. ❤

Some of you may have seen Heidi on facebook where Janet showed her in this farm pants outfit with duffle coat. Also, some of you may have seen Heidi on display at the recent Sasha Celebration weekend. Heidi’s eye painting was inspired by a very early Gotz girl that sold on ebay recently and that girl was wearing this outfit. 🙂

Heidi’s dress was made by Frances Trickett. If you look closely, you will see tiny little beads that line the neck and arm openings on this wonderful dress. Such nice detailing. Heidi’s white leather sandals were made by Jean Jensen. 🙂
