About mountainmullins

Sasha doll collector primarily plus other interesting dolls. I inheirited my love of dolls from my dear Mother and also her collection. My first Sasha doll was Gwennie, a redheaded studio doll. Since Gwennie, I have collected other Sasha dolls and love their individual personalities created by their eye painting, hair color and styling, and dressing them. It is such fun to share with other collectors!

Baby Sends Love to You ❤️

Image

My name is Baby and it is snowing ❄️ today at Sasha Shangri-La here on Cow Creek.  As I sit on the window sill and see such a snowy scene, my heart sends love to you. ❤️

Mommy told me that love knows no boundaries. So, up and above the snow clouds my love is soaring your way.  ❤️

As the beautiful snow gathers to cover up the familiar sights on Cow Creek, love is coming to you. ❤️

I think you can see the snow flakes falling in this last photo and I hope you can feel my heartfelt love.  Thank you for visiting today and I hope you have a happy day and week to come. ❤️ xxx

p.s.

Mommy gently reminded me to thank Janet Myhill-Dabbs for my beautiful eyes that look out on the world so big, my blue felt shoes that keep my feet toasty warm, and my Dollie that touches my heart.  Also, I want to thank Karen Warnaka for making this most beautiful dress that reminds me of our happy life outdoors here on Cow Creek. ❤️

❤️❤️❤️

Sasha Shangri-La’s First Born in 2018

Please meet this very sweet wide faced fringe girl that has just made a journey across the pond and she is now free from her wrappings.  She is overjoyed to be here today!   I redressed her in this warm and toasty corduroy outfit made by Jackie Hyatt and a lovely knitted sweater by Christine Durand.

I added a pair of pretty knitted socks and dark olive leather Sashapotamus shoes with bright pink ties.  After the ribbons were placed in her hair, I only added her cow puppet to play with. ❤️

A close up photo.

Very nice eye and brow detailing. ❤️

What is your name little one?  Please tell Mommy.

Mommy, you know my name is Clare. 😊

Boy it is sure cold outside. Mommy said it is best to stay indoors. Brrrrrrr.  I took my coat off, okay?

I hope we can go for a walk soon.  I love playing outdoors! 😊

Clare and I both thank you for visiting with us today. We hope you enjoyed this post. ❤️

We are sending you hugs and wishes for a very Happy New Year! ❤️

Bye bye everyone! I hope to see you again soon!  😊 xxx

Hello from Nellie, a Beautiful Sasha Studio Doll Ushering Out 2017

Image

Some of you might remember last summer that this beautiful and very early, B-III studio doll was put up for adoption by Lorraine. This first photo was taken by Lorraine.  Happily, I was able to add her to my Sasha family by the end of summer and thank you Lorraine for kindly allowing a short layaway.  Lorraine mailed this dear one to Janet who not only agreed to give her a spa treatment but also agreed to bring her to me when she visited in October.  Thank you again dear Janet. ❤️

Janet carefully inspected her and found her torso had a hollow cavity that lends the possibility that perhaps she was used to hide and/or transport family valuables during the war.  There is no documentation or proof but it is exciting to consider that this dear early girl might have had an additional purpose and only our imaginations can fuel those possibilities.  Janet took these photos of her body and the next two of her sitting on the pretty rug. 😊

Janet filled out her torso and also “evened-out” her legs where the shavings had settled and had enlarged the bottoms of both legs .   At my request, Janet carefully stitched fingers on her mitten hands and gave a nose rub a touching. I just love her. ❤️

Her tummy restored and ready for the next chapters in her life. 😉

Janet also observed that her cheek blushing looked like dabs of paint made by Sasha’s finger with possible partial fingerprint impressions there on her cheeks.  She re-dressed her in her traveling outfit made by Lorraine except for the bonnet that was vintage and came with her wardrobe.  The wardrobe was shipped to me early on and I had an antique trunk waiting to hold her things until her arrival.  ❤️

Janet braided her hair and pinned it up to fit neatly under the bonnet for her travels. Thank you Aunt Janet. 😊

After picking up Janet at the airport, we drove to New York to visit with Dorisanne.  I met my dear girl in the hotel and named her Little Nell or Nellie.  Janet knitted her socks and Brigitte made the black leather shoes and they all fit perfectly. Hello dear Nellie! ❤️

A very happy meeting after those few months of waiting.  😊

This is Nellie’s dolly which was a gift from her Aunt Peggy. 😊

Back home at Sasha Shangri-La, Nellie is presented with her trunk.

Inside are her new treasures and her wardrobe much of which has been with her for many years. 😊

A tray to hold the smaller things.

And inside a lovely powder blue coat and a red cape are among the things that came with Nellie.😊

The  pinafore and dress made by Aunt Lorraine safely stored to wear later. 😊

Hats to include a useful bonnet to wear while outdoors gardening this next Spring.

Nellie is sitting on Mommy’s bed now because we spend a lot of time together playing with her dolly and just having happy times together.  I unpinned her plaits because I love to see them down and it reminds me of my Mother’s childhood plaits.   Her most beautiful shawl was knitted by Aunt Diane and it is very useful on these cold winter days.  Thank you for visiting with us this New Year’s Eve.  We are wishing you a very Happy and Healthy New Year in 2018 and we hope that it will be filled with love and laughter with your family and friends. God Bless you.  ❤️ xxx

Merry Christmas to you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to YOU ❤️🎄🎄❤️

Baby Sheila is wearing her new Christmas frock made by Marilyn Hotchkiss.  The beautiful mug made by Emma Bridgewater is a loving gift from a very dear friend and is a special treasure to receive at Christmas as we so miss and remember our son Lance. ❤️

We are very blessed to have an unexpected and unpredicted white Christmas. 🎄

A light dusting came overnight and it is a most welcome sight here on Cow Creek. We all so wanted a white Christmas but hardly dared to wish for one with the warmer temperatures we received lately. A delightful Christmas present. 🎄

Merry Christmas from all of us here at Sasha Shangri-La. Thank you for visiting with us. We hope your holiday is a wonderful time with family and friends and also a very healthy and happy one!     ❤️🎄🎄❤️ xxx

Christine wearing her New Outfit

Image

As promised, I took photos of Christine wearing her new outfit beautifully knitted by Christine Durand.  I love it! ❤️

Her blue and white outfit consists of a dress, jacket, pants, hat and socks. I added a pair of later Gotz leather shoes.

The knitting is amazing and I love the floral detailing.  It fits perfectly. ❤️

Some close up photos.  Tiny buttons!

I moved her hair to the side so you can see the detailing on the back of her jacket.

Matching socks. 😊

A soft, drawstring gathering of the cuffs and also at her waist. ❤️

A photo taken by Christine Durand of the outfit. ❤️

Thank you for visiting with us today and I hope you enjoyed this post of Christine in her new outfit.  We are sending you hugs and happy wishes for the upcoming Christmas holiday. 😊 xxx
