🎄Merry Christmas🎄

Image

image

Gertie sends her joyful wishes to you and your family for a very happy Christmas. 😊

image

Gertie loves her baby Dimples made by Janet Myhill-Dabbs and gifted to her by her twin sister Edith. ❤️

image

We had a lovely Christmas here at Sasha Shangri-La.  Gertie especially likes the Christmas tree.  We were delayed this year with putting up our tree due to the wonderful wedding festivities in early December for our son Luke and his lovely bride, Mollie.

Next, on the following week, my other son moved out to his first, new home that he has bought and my husband Rick helped him with the move.  During the week following the move, my retirement celebration at work occurred along with our office Christmas party.

So all of our holiday fun has happened in the last week or so.  I am sadly behind on blogging and commenting on other blogs too.  Hopefully the new year will bring me to a happy blogging state again. 😊

Edith, Gertie’s sister sent Gertie this Santa tin for Christmas and inside was a peppermint stick and a tiny stuffed mouse.  Gertie was delighted! 😊

Good things do come in small packages! Thank you Edith. 🎁

“I am having a wonderful Christmas holiday!” Gertie shared. ❤

Gertie and I want to thank you for visiting with us today. We wish you a very happy Christmas holiday week and a very Happy and Healthy New Year in 2017. ❤ xxx

A Laura Disney Surprise

Image

img_0574

I recently won several online auctions and most of the dolls were Sasha dolls and Kathe Kruse dolls. This lovely girl came undressed and the photo showed her in a group dolls crowded together. I thought she was a Gotz Maria doll. She came to me undressed except for her pants and when I inspected her torso, I was so surprised to see that her torso was marked. 😊

img_0582

I think she is Laura Disney and #16 of 50 dolls made.  😊

img_0578

I dressed Laura in a stunning dress made by Karen Warnaka and gifted to me by a dear friend who lives in England.  I was keeping it for a special girl.   She looks Dee-licious! ❤️

img_0576

Hello there pretty Laura. ❤️

img_0575

Laura’s blue leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen.

My son’s dog Duke also likes Laura and her new vinyl smell. 😊

Laura and I want to thank you for visiting us today.  Life here is very busy and we are only now beginnng to decorate for Christmas.  We both wish you a happy weekend and week to come. 😊 xxx

Note:  My son Luke’s wedding was so wonderful and his bride Mollie was absolutely beautiful.  We all had such a wonderful time.  Love is blooming here on Cow Creek. 🌹

🌹Ella Rose 🌹

Image

image

Hello. My name is Ella Rose.  I am very, very shy girl.  I came to live here at Sasha Shangri-La  last October in 2015.  Mommy finally convinced me to be photographed. I am nervous. I was repainted by Kelly Wenarsky and came home to Mommy in this outfit.  Mommy added these leather shoes made by Monica Jarpey. ❤️

image

Mommy said I have pretty eyes and freckles.  Mommy gave me my tiny piggies and I love them. ❤️

image

Mommy has been very busy lately. She asked me to share with you that we had a wonderful Thanksgiving here on Cow Creek.  Also, Mommy is retiring from her work next month. There are a lot of farewells for Mommy to say to her work friends. 😊

image

But…..the most exciting news is that Mommy’s son Luke is getting married next weekend.  Everyone is so happy about the wedding and there will be lots of family members visiting with us and lots of celebrating! 😊

image

Weddings really stir up things, don’t they? Everyone is very busy! 😊

image

But Mommy said it is a good and happy time and that we are all blessed. ❤️

image

Plus, we hope to decorate for Christmas sometime soon. Tomorrow is the first Sunday in Advent and we all look forward to Christmas.  But for now, we are thinking mostly about the wedding. 😊

image

I hope you enjoyed your visit with me today.  I think it wasn’t too terribly difficult to speak for Mommy and I am feeling less nervous now.  I am a good girl, Mommy’s sweet Ella Rose. 🌹

image

Mommy gave me this tiny rag doll. I love my dolly. ❤️

image

We hope you have a lovely weekend and a lovely week to come.  Mommy wanted me to say that she will write again on the blog as soon as possible after the wedding. 😊 xxx

This is Dane, a Harlequin, created by Janet and inspired by a studio Harlequin.  Dane’s head is larger than the vinyl dolls and is the size of a course doll head mold.  Janet used pencils I think to create his amazing expression.  He has long and lanky cloth limbs. His wig is mohair and perfect for him.  He is holding a prized Liberty apple pin cushion. ❤️

Next, I will show photos of the studio renditions made by Janet.  They were inspired by the outstanding books “Sasha-Puppen” by Till Schaap and “Sasha Dolls. the History” by Anne Votaw. ❤️
