Two Holiday Arrivals

This delghtful little urchin arrived at Sasha Shangri-La and her name is Sudie.  She was a waif wonderfully transformed by Kelly Wenarsky.  Sudie came in her ragged and torn outfit that might be found on a little girl living in the poorest parts of the Appalachian Mountain area.  Sudie is a child of the Appalachia as am I. ❤

Beautiful Sudie.

Kelly’s eye painting is beautiful.

Sudie felt at home immediately here on the Cow Creek farm. 😊

Sudie received a new outfit for Christmas and she would like to try it on for you. Let’s get changed Sudie!!! 🎁

image

Sudie is warm now and is wearing lime green corduroy slacks by Michelle Sharpe, a colorful cardigan by Diane Duke, and leather boots by Ruthsdolls.  Sudie is wearing her necklace which she made herself after finding a bead and some stones while out for a walk.  She had a piece of string and put them together to create a necklace.  She loves her new outfit. ❤

Sudie wanted to share this Christmas ornament of a handcrafted mouse with a head made from teasel, commonly found in the Appalachia area. 😊

Welcome home dear Sudie. ❤

Next is a wonderful boy named Eastwood. He is custom made by Janet Myhill-Dabbs and was a raffle win by Theresa O’Neill at the first Sasha Celebration weekend. I luckily was able to adopt Eastwood and I love him! ❤

What amazing, dreamy eyes Eastwood has….the better to see you with! 😉

  1. Two wonderful dolls to arrive at Cow Creek over the holidays. Both have such fabulous eye painting. I love Sudie and her little teasel friend and her new outfit is so full of colour which I love.
Eastwood, a great name, I think looks very handsome in his sailor outfit.
Looks like you had a very lovely festive holiday Ginger 🙂 xxx

    • Thanks Dee. I agree, their eye painting is fantastic! It was a festive holiday time and I really enjoyed the days right before Christmas and through the new year. It feels like vacation so far but I am thinking by next week, it will begin to feel like retirement. 😊 xxx

  2. Hi Ginger Happy New Year…..I love your new children….thanks for sharing the lovely photos.

    Love from Lel x

  3. Two very lovely new arrivals indeed Ginger. Sudie reminds me a little of my Maddison – probably the hair! As for your Sailor boy, how Theresa could bear to part with him is beyond me! Lucky you he is a handsome lad for sure. They both look pleased to be in warmer winter wear.

    • Thank you Lorraine. It is fun to redress the dolls and safely store their original outfits for later. Eastwood is dreamy and I love him! I plan to show him often especially if we get some snow. He loves snow! 😉 xxx

  4. WOW Ginger! Two lovely new additions to your already gorgeous family 🙂 I really like both of them and they fit right in there, don’t they! I like their original looks (particularly the sailor suit) but also like how you have now styled them.
I look forward to seeing more of them here on your blog. xxx

    • Hi Sharon and thank you! I agree, they fit perfectly into the Sasha family here on Cow Creek. This is especially true of Sudie who just loves to roam the hills surrounding the farm. She is collecting tiny treasures from her walks and it will be interesting to see what she creates from her finds. 😊

Sending you big hugs! ❤ XXX

  5. I am just overjoyed that Eastwood has come to live with you Ginger, I have such a fondness for him and I know he will be very happy at Shangri-La. Sudie is such a lovely girl, I love her story and her cute little teasel mouse. How different they both look in their new outfits too, I think they are going to be great friends.

    • Thank you Janet, I am thrilled that Eastwood is here too. He is just fantastic! Sudie really likes Eastwood. Since they both love spending time outdoors, we will see more of them together. ❤ xxx

  6. Congratulations Ginger on being able to welcome two new members of the family. I love them both, both completely unique and still they look like brother and sister already. Their new outfits are great too. Happy New Year to all of you and I’m looking forward to seeing all your 2017 postings 🙂 x

  7. Two more fabulous additions to your ever growing Sasha family. What a very lucky girl you are!

Kelly’s customised dolls are always lovely (have had the pleasure of owning many of hers over time) and I like how she has lately made her beautifully painted eyes slightly larger so that it is easier to see the detail.
I’ve always admired her ability to give her dolls this ragged/torn clothing look that Sasha Morgenthaler herself so often did on some of her Studio Dolls.

Janet’s little sailor boy is a poppet with those outstanding blue eyes and blonde hair surrounding that sweet face. I so remember seeing and photographing him at that first SCW! (I wasn’t aware that he had been adopted out to you so this was quite a surprise to see him featured here.)

They must both be thrilled with their new Christmas outfits so that their original outfits can be carefully stored away for future prosperity.
Great names and fab waterlogue photos to finish the post.
We here thank you for your best wishes for today and this coming week and wish you the very same.

    • Hi Kendal and thank you. Yes it seems like I am really falling for the Sasha waifs that have new, reclaimed lives by talented Sasha artists and fresh outlooks on life. 😊

I could not resist Sudie the sweet girl of the Appalachia and I admired Eastwood from afar while viewing photos of him probably taken by you. I am indeed a very blessed person. We send you and your brood the very best too. ❤️ xxx
