About mountainmullins

Sasha doll collector primarily plus other interesting dolls. I inheirited my love of dolls from my dear Mother and also her collection. My first Sasha doll was Gwennie, a redheaded studio doll. Since Gwennie, I have collected other Sasha dolls and love their individual personalities created by their eye painting, hair color and styling, and dressing them. It is such fun to share with other collectors!

Edith Welcomes a Kruse Cousin ❤️

Image

image
A quick post as Edith extends the arm of friendship towards a new family member joining our Kruse clan cousins here on Cow Creek, Lost Horizon Farm. 🙂

image

“Hello there shy one.  My name is Edith.  What is your name?”

image

“Hello Edith. My name is Ingrid.  It is nice to meet you.  You are very pretty Edith.”  “Thank you Ingrid, you are very pretty too!  Look, we have matching boo boos on our hands.  My boo boo is on the right hand and your boo boo is on your left hand.  But together, we can do anything.” ❤

A Quiet Welcome for Dear Edith

Image

ediths-box-marked

A quiet trip to the post office to retrieve a box sent from the UK.  It was posted on Monday and arrived on Thursday of the same week.  Wonderful postal services!

Out of the box quickly and my heart was beating fast.  A lovely Sasha studio girl and she told me immediately that her name is Edith. ❤

I added a white pinafore, socks and leather shoes and some unmentionables too.  Last, I placed a vintage, pink silk ribbon in her hair.  Edith is a delight. ❤

edith-and-me-again

My dear husband took these photos of me with Edith. I think he could tell how very happy I was to be holding Edith.  His grandmother was also named Edith. 🙂

A quiet moment together. ❤

A final photo of Edith and me.  Of course, I could not forget to acknowledge our dear girl, Shelby who is always by my side.  Welcome home dear Edith.  We hope you will be happy at Sasha Shangri-La! ❤

Thank you for visiting with us today. Have a wonderful rest of the week and enjoy your weekend! 🙂 xxx

More of Markus

Image

image

Finally, we are having nice weather which is not in the 90’s and the humidity is low and so this encourages going outdoors for photos. I am glad to take outdoor photos of Markus.

Markus is wearing a wonderful outfit made by Thu Cuc Faes.  I have shown the outfit before on the blog and Ben was wearing it at that time.  Ben is also a studio doll but he has a cloth body.  This outfit also fits Markus very well as do his shoes.

image

Markus was happy to try on some new “threads”. 🙂

image

The white shirt has long sleeves and his vest or waist coat looks so nice.

image
I really am very taken with Markus. ❤

image

Some close up photos of Markus.

image

image

You may remember that Marcus arrived wearing his original scout outfit. I really like him in shorts because it shows his nice legs. 🙂

image

So, with a little bit of mix and matching of clothing, here is Markus wearing his scout shorts and shoes, the white shirt from the previous outfit and a cardigan knitted by Janet Myhill-Dabbs. 🙂

image

I think blue is a nice color for Markus. 🙂

image

A close up photo.

image

I love the waves and the hair texture in his wig. ❤

image

Markus from a different side.  He has his share of scrapes and scratches as most boys do. 😉

image

I cannot decide which side is Markus’s best side.  Thoughts anyone?

image

image

Janet knitted a matching hat too. 🙂

image

Hello Markus.  It is so nice to see you. 🙂

image

More of Markus for you to see.

image

image

Back when I was in high school, a boy this handsome would have been called “dreamy” or “a hunk”…..today I would say a handsome lad. 🙂

I hope you have enjoyed this “More of Markus” post.  We thank you for visiting with us today. 🙂

Markus and I both wish you a very happy day and a happy week to come. 🙂 xxx

Whitney Welcomes Friends

Image

image

Some of you may remember Whitney a beautiful Cora doll that was rerooted by the talented Sarah Williams . Sarah then braided her hair and created over 150 individual braids.  Recently on eBay, I noticed a cloth doll with an amazing outfit made of material that is hand woven and the doll was about 16 inches tall so I bought the cute cloth doll and thought her outfit just might fit a Sasha doll. 🙂

image

Whitney was the first to volunteer to try on the outfit.  It really fits nicely though it is not quite large enough in the waist but the top covers the waistline.  The material is so nice and it came with the belt and the woven shoulder bag.  The cloth doll also had handmade sandals but they were too wide for Whitney so she selected a pair of JJ brown leather sandals to compliment her outfit.

image

You look very pretty Whitney! 🙂

image

The back of her outfit and her many braids. ❤

image

A closer look at the hand woven fabric. 🙂

image

Whitney’s shoulder bag up close. 🙂

image

A clever idea to ensure your doll manages to hang-on to their shoulder bag.  Just a snap and the bag is secure. 🙂

image

Whitney has become friends with the new cloth doll that loaned her outfit to her and she wants to introduce her friend to you. 🙂

image

Hello there generous one.  Whitney is so happy to be your friend and she wants to introduce you on the blog. What is your name? 🙂

image

I can see that you and Whitney are about the same size.  You have lovely stitched fingers and a ring too!

image

And your lovely woven fabric sandals also show your pretty stitched toes.  What is your name? 🙂

image

“Hi, my name is Wren.  I really like Whitney too and she went to the closet and found this pretty dress made by Molly for me to wear.  I think Whitney looks so nice in my yellow pants outfit and it is great for me to try on new clothes too!”  Well, welcome Wren and I hope you enjoy your time here at Sasha Shangri-La. 🙂

image

Whitney went back outdoors to welcome another new friend named Otis.  I adopted Otis from Janet Myhill-Dabbs and Janet made his outfit too. ❤

image

Otis is an earlier Caleb with really nice eyes. Whitney shared her zebra with Otis so he would have a play toy. 🙂

image

Otis is a wonderful boy and he really likes the outdoors. 🙂

image

A photo of Otis.  His shoes are gray leather slip ons. I love this outfit. 🙂

image

Hi Otis. 🙂

image

A very handsome boy. 🙂

image

Otis up close. ❤

image

We thank you for visiting with us today.  Our weather has greatly improved in the past few days with the high temperatures being in the 80’s instead of the 90’s and higher.  We like going outdoors to play and taking photos.  Please have a great day and also a great week to come. 🙂 xxx

A Wonder in White

Image

image
This week on facebook they are encouraging posts of Sasha dolls dressed in white. Following that lead, I dressed Sara in a white studio outfit made by Carol Mitchell. Carol skillfully made this outfit using material from antique baby baptism gowns. ❤️

I thought it would be fun to show Sara putting on the pieces of the outfit.  Sara recently joined the family here at Sasha Shangri-La. ❤

image

Sara is ready to begin.

image
Perfect pantaloons and just the right length. 🙂
image

Such lovely detailing.  The scalloped hem is very pretty. 🙂

image

Next is a beautiful slip also with nice detailing and a scalloped hem. 🙂

image

Pretty ribbon straps.  ❤️

image

This slip would make a lovely summer dress. It is so very hot here today and may reach 100 degrees so I am taking indoor photos once again.  I am so looking forward to taking photos outdoors again!   Next, we have one more layer to put on. 🙂

image

The studio dress is so beautiful and feels very soft to the touch. 🙂

image

Sara loves this dress.❤️

image

I love this dress too. 🙂

image

Her sleeves up close.

image

A peek at the layers.  Sara is wearing black leather studio style shoes made by Jean Jensen. ❤️

image

Another view.

image

Up close. ❤️

image

Sara and I hope you enjoyed this post in “white”.  Thank you for visiting with us today. 🙂

image

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and week to come.  August is nearly over now and soon we will be in the month of September and looking for our lovely Fall weather and scenery. 🙂 xxx

Hugs to everyone! xxx
