Gotz and Sashas Old and New

Image

image

This is Briana a brunette girl from the 1960’s with ochre painted eyes.  She is wearing a lovely holly patterned dress made by Maureen Hallenbeck.  Briana is wearing warm, stripy tights and red leather  shoes made by Ruthsdolls.

image

I love the added touches of trimming, buttons, and dotted collar.

image

Briana up close. Her brunette hair is soft and silky and her face painting is so nice and a real treat found on the earlier Gotz dolls.  🌹

image

New for Christmas is the beautiful wool plaid coat and coordinated bag made by Fanny Boiten.  I love the fabric and wish that I had a coat like Briana’s coat! 😊

image

Inside her bag is a dear little doll that was in my Mother’s doll collection.  I had gifted it to Mary Righos with a doll she adopted from me.  When Mary posted photos of the doll on facebook, Janet Myhill-Dabbs recognized it immediately as a doll she had made years earlier.  We were all so surprised and dear Mary surprised me again by re-gifting the doll back to me because she thought this dolly must stay with me. How kind! If only our dolls could talk about their journeys, what would they say?  😊

A peek at the festive lining of Briana’s coat.🌹

Briana loves her coat. ❤

This is a later Gotz girl that came to me recently.  I had posted her on Facebook as available for adoption.  Kendal kindly helped me with her identification as Annett (if I remembered correctly) who was manufactured in 1999 and 2000 (source: Sasha Doll Serie Identification). Annett originally wore a brown corduroy farm pants with a white blouse, a red duffle coat and white sandals.

image

Annett has found a furry friend to play with and to love.

image

She is wearing dotted tights and brown leather shoes by Kathe Kruse. 😊

image

Her hair has a slight wave from previous braiding I think, so I gave her a single braid and a special bow. 😊

image

Her hair is very nice and full and long.

image

Briana has joined with Annett to send you a very happy hello and also happy wishes for the week to come. 😊

Thank you for spending time with us today. 😊 xxx

Two Holiday Arrivals

Image

This delghtful little urchin arrived at Sasha Shangri-La and her name is Sudie.  She was a waif wonderfully transformed by Kelly Wenarsky.  Sudie came in her ragged and torn outfit that might be found on a little girl living in the poorest parts of the Appalachian Mountain area.  Sudie is a child of the Appalachia as am I. ❤

image

Beautiful Sudie.

image

Kelly’s eye painting is beautiful.

image

Sudie felt at home immediately here on the Cow Creek farm. 😊

Sudie received a new outfit for Christmas and she would like to try it on for you. Let’s get changed Sudie!!! 🎁

image

Sudie is warm now and is wearing lime green corduroy slacks by Michelle Sharpe, a colorful cardigan by Diane Duke, and leather boots by Ruthsdolls.  Sudie is wearing her necklace which she made herself after finding a bead and some stones while out for a walk.  She had a piece of string and put them together to create a necklace.  She loves her new outfit. ❤

The lovely Sudie.

Different photos of Sudie. 😊

Sudie wanted to share this Christmas ornament of a handcrafted mouse with a head made from teasel, commonly found in the Appalachia area. 😊

Welcome home dear Sudie. ❤

Next is a wonderful boy named Eastwood. He is custom made by Janet Myhill-Dabbs and was a raffle win by Theresa O’Neill at the first Sasha Celebration weekend. I luckily was able to adopt Eastwood and I love him! ❤

What amazing, dreamy eyes Eastwood has….the better to see you with! 😉

🎄Merry Christmas🎄

Image

image

Gertie sends her joyful wishes to you and your family for a very happy Christmas. 😊

image

Gertie loves her baby Dimples made by Janet Myhill-Dabbs and gifted to her by her twin sister Edith. ❤️

image

We had a lovely Christmas here at Sasha Shangri-La.  Gertie especially likes the Christmas tree.  We were delayed this year with putting up our tree due to the wonderful wedding festivities in early December for our son Luke and his lovely bride, Mollie.

Next, on the following week, my other son moved out to his first, new home that he has bought and my husband Rick helped him with the move.  During the week following the move, my retirement celebration at work occurred along with our office Christmas party.

So all of our holiday fun has happened in the last week or so.  I am sadly behind on blogging and commenting on other blogs too.  Hopefully the new year will bring me to a happy blogging state again. 😊

Photos of Gertie by the tree. 🎄

image

Edith, Gertie’s sister sent Gertie this Santa tin for Christmas and inside was a peppermint stick and a tiny stuffed mouse.  Gertie was delighted! 😊

image

Good things do come in small packages! Thank you Edith. 🎁

image

“I am having a wonderful Christmas holiday!” Gertie shared. ❤

image

Gertie and I want to thank you for visiting with us today. We wish you a very happy Christmas holiday week and a very Happy and Healthy New Year in 2017. ❤ xxx

A Laura Disney Surprise

Image

img_0574

I recently won several online auctions and most of the dolls were Sasha dolls and Kathe Kruse dolls. This lovely girl came undressed and the photo showed her in a group dolls crowded together. I thought she was a Gotz Maria doll. She came to me undressed except for her pants and when I inspected her torso, I was so surprised to see that her torso was marked. 😊

img_0582

I think she is Laura Disney and #16 of 50 dolls made.  😊

img_0578

I dressed Laura in a stunning dress made by Karen Warnaka and gifted to me by a dear friend who lives in England.  I was keeping it for a special girl.   She looks Dee-licious! ❤️

img_0576

Hello there pretty Laura. ❤️

img_0575

Laura’s blue leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen.

Her hair is nice and full and silky.  I added a barrette. 🌹

My son’s dog Duke also likes Laura and her new vinyl smell. 😊

img_0581

Laura and I want to thank you for visiting us today.  Life here is very busy and we are only now beginnng to decorate for Christmas.  We both wish you a happy weekend and week to come. 😊 xxx

Note:  My son Luke’s wedding was so wonderful and his bride Mollie was absolutely beautiful.  We all had such a wonderful time.  Love is blooming here on Cow Creek. 🌹
