About mountainmullins

Sasha doll collector primarily plus other interesting dolls. I inheirited my love of dolls from my dear Mother and also her collection. My first Sasha doll was Gwennie, a redheaded studio doll. Since Gwennie, I have collected other Sasha dolls and love their individual personalities created by their eye painting, hair color and styling, and dressing them. It is such fun to share with other collectors!

Thankful for Life

Image

image
This lovely photo of a pair of course dolls taken by Shelly caught my eye and my love for cloth dolls rose up within me and I wrote to Shelly and asked to adopt the sweet, redheaded child. 🙂

image
She arrived quickly and wonderfully wrapped. Her green checked dress was waiting for her here at Sasha Shangri-La. A soft bunny was waiting too. I love this beautiful girl. She whispered to me that her name is Erin.

If you look closely, you will see a dear little paint mark on Erin’s neck. This is her birthmark which is proof that she was born! 😉

A waterlogue image of Erin. Welcome home pretty girl. 🙂

HELP!!!!!

image
HELP!!!! Mommy, please help me!!!! I am stuck and can’t get out!!!! Help!!!!  [more to come….]

Note: A quick post for today. My dear husband was hit in his truck on the interstate last Thursday. He is fine though suffered trauma to his neck. We are very blessed that his truck protected him from the vehicle that ran into the rear end at a high speed. This is the week of Thanksgiving here in the States and I am indeed giving thanks daily for life and for our many blessings. ❤

Thank you for visiting. Have a beautiful day! 🙂 xxx

See a Penny and Pick it Up……

Image

image
Heidi came outside to enjoy a sunny day.  Though it is windy, it is also warmer temperatures than we have seen for a while which is nice!

image
Heidi is a delightful repaint by Janet Myhill-Dabbs. Heidi is wearing a very pretty dress by Ruthsdolls and leather shoes that were made by Jean Jensen. 🙂

image
Heidi is holding a fuzzy bear and enjoying the day.

image
Suddenly, she noticed something shiny laying on the ground. Oh my Heidi, it is a shiny penny! Heidi said “Mommy, we must pick it up! The saying is: See a penny and pick it up and all the day you’ll have good luck. I want us to have good luck!”

image
Heidi reached for the penny and said with excitement “Penny!”

image
Then, suddenly Heidi was joined by her newest sister! “Hi there Heidi, it’s me, Penny. Did you call for me?”

image
Heidi was so glad to see Penny. She said “No, I found a penny and I picked it up and I was so excited that I exclaimed PENNY. Now I will be lucky all day! See, with you joining me, I am already lucky dear Penny.” ❤

image
“Oh thank you dear Heidi. I feel lucky too!” said Penny.

image
Then Heidi gave Penny her penny to tuck in her belt for luck.  She also gave Penny her fuzzy bear to keep as her own. 🙂

image
“Thank you dear sister, look, I am already lucky and I love my fuzzy bear very much!” ❤

image
Penny came to us from Shelly’s site. She is a very early Gotz girl with no mold line and was probably made in 1965. She has yellow eyes with lashes and eye shadow and gorgeous soft and shiny red hair.  She is also a button nose girl. Some may call her a no-nose or a monkey face girl I like button nose better and I think it is a much more flattering word to use to descibe this special girl. ❤

image
A close up photo of Penny with her penny. 🙂

image
Penny came to us wearing an original Girl Guide outfit that was made to look like a Swiss Guide outfit of the 1960’s. 🙂

image
As nice as this outfit is, we have safely wrapped it and stored it away for another day. Penny is so excited to try on a new outfit!

image
Penny is wearing a lovely outfit made by Fanny Boiten of Switzerland. The shoe maker is unknown. I love this outfit! ❤

image
I think these colors look so nice on Penny. 🙂

image
Bringing in the turquoise color at the neckline, sleeve cuffs and the waistband of the apron really compliments these Fall colors beautifully. ❤

image
Happy Fall dear Penny!

A closer view of Penny. 🙂

An even closer view of this sweet girl. 🙂

My personal favorite photo of dear Penny. We both thank you for visiting us today. We hope you enjoyed this post of Heidi in her new outfit and also meeting her new sister, Penny. 🙂

Waterlogue images to enjoy. 🙂

Happy wishes to you for the rest of the week to come. 🙂 xxx

By Early Morning Light

Image

image
The big beautiful sun is out today and shining in all of its glory! Yeah! 🙂

image
I first thought of Adeline and how I wanted to take her photo wearing our newly acquired Karen Warnaka dress. Her olive green, leather shoes are from Sashapotamus. 🙂

image
Adeline is a 1967 Trendon NP and I named her after my late and much loved grandmother. It seems just right that the heavenly rays are shining on us today. ❤

image
I thought it would be nice to see the first light of the day as it filters through the trees and warms us on this very crisp and frosty morning. 🙂

image
It is interesting to see the different light on Adeline as the day wakes up around us. ❤

image
So I took a lot of photos to share with you. 🙂

image
Adeline. 🙂

image
A full length view for you to see. 🙂

image
Adeline up close. I love her eyes. ❤

image
I love this outfit on Adeline. ❤

image
The lovely smocking. 🙂

image
The lovely belt with snap closures and button accents. The dress details make for an exceptional garment. 🙂

image
The knitted socks are perfect and the shoes worked out very well. 🙂

image
A waterlogue image of dear Adeline. ❤

My grandmother Adeline’s middle name was Pearl. So it seemed very fitting this morning to bring with Adeline her sister Pearl. ❤

image
Pearl in the early morning light. ❤

image
Wisely, Pearl dressed warm this morning. 😉

image
This lovely oufit was sold in two lots on Shelly’s site. I crossed my fingers that I would be in time to get both lots to join this lovely coat with the matching pants. 🙂

image
The knitted hat and scarf came with the coat. They are perfect together. 🙂

image
This knitted top and matching socks came with the pants. 🙂

image
This beautiful outfit was made by Sasha Wardrobe. ❤

image
Pearl wearing her new outfit with ballet pink leather shoes from Sashapotamus. I have the perfect pair of brown boots for this set but I wanted to show these pretty matching socks. 🙂

image
Pearl is a 1966 NP Trendon girl.   We took her hat off so you could see her pretty red hair. ❤

image
I love her pretty brown graphic eyes. ❤

image
We took a few photos with the coat removed. 🙂

image
The sun is shining on Pearl. ❤

image
Pearl in pink though some say redheads should not wear pink, I always wore pink with my red hair and felt great wearing that color.  Pearl likes pink too! 😉

image
Pearl up close. 🙂

image
Pearl in a pose. 🙂

image
Pearl is getting a bit cold without her coat. 😦

image
“Please Mommy, may I put my coat on?” Yes, of course Pearl, let’s warm up! 🙂

image
There, that is much better my dear Pearl. ❤

image
“Where is my sister Adeline?”

image
There she is! Now Adeline and Pearl are together again. 🙂

image
Sisters. ❤

image
Adeline and Pearl want to thank you for visiting with them today. They hoped you enjoyed your time with us. 🙂

image
They also are sending you hugs and happy wishes for a wonderful week to come! 🙂

image
Neither girl wants to go back inside the house. It is a beautiful day here at Sasha Shangri-La and it is best to enjoy the day outdoors if you can. ❤

image
A final farewell photo. 🙂 xxx

A parting gift of a waterlogue image of Adeline and Pearl. ❤

Fall Back into Fall, Welcome November

Image

image
Yesterday was November 1st and we turned our clocks back one hour. One way to remember which way to adjust your time is a favorite saying, ” Spring forward, Fall back.”  So in the Spring you set your clock forward one hour and in the Fall, you set your clock back one hour. 🙂

image
This is Mae a 1960’s Gotz waif that spent more than her share of time on Shelly’s site and then came to live here last May. Our overcast days of late caused us to take indoor photos.

image
Mae is wearing a lovely outfit made by Vintage Sasha. I love the fine corduory and the sweet floral pattern. It fits her perfectly as do the accompanying tights too. 🙂

image
I always feel fortunate to get an outfit made by Sarah and this ensemble was no exception to having that happy feeling. 🙂

image
I added leather shoes by Sashapotamus. 🙂

image
A waterlogue image of Mae and we both thank you for visiting us. Have a beautiful week to come! 🙂 xxx
