The Rest of the Story…

Image

I wanted to share the rest of the story about Gracie’s studio dress. My recent post about Gracie’s dress was really the end of an interesting and happy story.

In August, I received emails from an online auction house that routinely contacts me when the word “Sasha” is in the title or description of an auction item. This particular email was about an auction involving several interesting Sasha studio dolls that really perked my interest.  So I clicked on the link to have a look.

There were some very nice dolls in this auction located in Switzerland. One doll was a redheaded early Gotz girl with ochre eyes. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to her because I was focusing on the beautiful studio dolls.

This is the photo as shown by the auction house!

The written auction description said that the dress was labeled. I then thought it must be a studio dress but not for the usual size Sasha studio ( ranging from 19-22 inches) but a smaller studio doll like a Sasha studio bebe. Also, noting the length of the dress and sleeve length on this 16 inch tall vinyl doll, I was pretty certain this would fit a Sasha bebe.

I was so excited because Gracie, a studio bebe, came to me in a lovely but unoriginal dress.  I had hoped to one day find her a studio dress of her own. I registered for the auction and placed my high bid. I won!

My kind friend from Switzerland, who retrieved the doll after I had won the auction, sent these photos to me with the happy confirmation that it was a studio dress for a bebe!

Sasha label

Fast forward to today… Gracie is so very happy with her new studio dress and I don’t think she will take it off anytime soon.Β  I have a couple of additional photos of the happy baby girl. (I am getting better at posting photos 😊)

Before I forget, there was also an addition to the Sasha doll family….the sweet girl that modeled Gracie’s dress. She, too, is very nice. I dressed her quickly in a Ruth’s doll outfit having Fall colors.

Gotz Girls

Isn’t she sweet? I haven’t named her yet.  She has a nice early Gotz wrist tag with the blue thread. She is standing next to a wonderful no-navel Gotz girl I recently adopted from Dee.  Her name is Hazel.  So lovely to see them together.

Thank you for visiting us today here at Sasha Shangri-la.  I hope you enjoyed the “Rest of the Story.”  Gracie and I are sending you happy wishes for a great day and week ahead. πŸ₯°

I took a few extra photos the day of the big snow when Sarah and Hazel went sledding outdoors. I included in the photo the lovely Amber who is wearing a dress made by Frances Tricket and holding her cute bunny. πŸ™‚

A closer view of these Gotz sisters. πŸ™‚

I am getting very attached to Amber. Β  I think she is a 1966 girl andΒ I was so fortunate to buy her from her original Mom. That is as close asΒ I will ever be able to get to having a childhood Sasha doll. Β She is my oldest Gotz Sasha and a real treasure. πŸ™‚

Please notice the extra special detailing on her collar. The material feels like a raw silk. Β Just a gorgeous dress in every way. πŸ™‚

No Navels in the Snow

Image

image
There are two no navel Gotz Sasha dolls that live here at Sasha Shangri-La. I haven’t shown this sweet pair in a while and they were both getting stir crazy! So, here they are! πŸ™‚

image
Hazel is sitting in the sled and sister Sarah is pulling her…or trying to pull her! We are very happy that the snow stopped falling and the beautiful sun peeked out today! πŸ™‚

image
These girls look so small compared to their snowy landscape. Their sled tended to sink into the deep snow.

image
So they tried some of the areas where the snow was compacted by tire treads.

image
This worked much better! πŸ™‚

Wee!!!!! They love the snow! ❀

A last look at the snowy scenery.

My son was outdoors with me to help shake the snow off of the lower tree limbs. So he took a photo of Mom with a very big smile and having a great day outdoors with Sasha dolls. A very happy Mom thanks you for visiting and wishes you a happy weekend!!! πŸ™‚ xxx
