About mountainmullins

Sasha doll collector primarily plus other interesting dolls. I inheirited my love of dolls from my dear Mother and also her collection. My first Sasha doll was Gwennie, a redheaded studio doll. Since Gwennie, I have collected other Sasha dolls and love their individual personalities created by their eye painting, hair color and styling, and dressing them. It is such fun to share with other collectors!

Pretty Polly

Image

image
Another cold day but much warmer at 12 degrees this morning. Β I ordered a different wig for Polly and thought I would dress her for winter and take a few photos.

image
This sweater dress came with the matching hat and leather belt and boots. It was made by a lady that lives in Scotland. πŸ™‚

image
Polly is a waif with some scuffs, dings, and rubs and only tiny tuffs of hair remaining in her root holes. Β She is a perfect candidate for a repaint and a wig. πŸ™‚

image
Polly’s repainting was by the talented Nikki from Ireland. I love her pretty face. ❀

A last photo of Polly. Β I hope you enjoyed seeing her. Β Have a wonderful week everyone! Β We are sending you hugs from everyone at Sasha Shangri-La. Β Stay warm! πŸ™‚ xxx

Claudia, a Refuge on a Frigid Day

Image

image
Yesterday when I got in my car to drive to work, the temperature read -21 degrees on my car dashboard. It was the coldest day that I can ever remember in my 60 years on planet earth. Just before leaving for work, I heard a loud bang against our front window. The glass had just cracked on our double pane window. Β A not welcomed sign of the day’s offerings. Β My VW faithfully delivered me to my workplace forty minutes away as I forced my way in the dark and along the plowed, salt-stained roadways. Β The punished roads were lined on both sides with high, mounded banks of snow and ice. Β Nevertheless. I was present and on time for duty.

I share this journey because after I returned home some 10 hours later, I found great comfort dressing and photographing Sasha dolls. Β It was dark so please excuse the fuzziness of the photos caused by limited light sources. Β I hope you enjoy this post, a glimmer of light in our Sasha world. Β This is the very special Claudia, a 1968 dungarees girl. She is wearing a wonderfully made outfit found on Shelly’s site. πŸ™‚

image
The striped tights are warm and I love the black leather boots. ❀

image
Claudia came to me with her hair down and I styled it in bunches which seem to suit her well. So nice to have a full center part. πŸ™‚

image
I hope you will notice the exceptional detailing on Claudia’s blouse. Her pleated skirt straps do cover up some of the blouse but the effect of the skirt is charming. πŸ™‚

image
Claudia is very happy to model this outfit for us. πŸ™‚

Another close view and you can see the pretty sleeves. πŸ™‚

A final and last look at Claudia’s face and brown eyes. Thank you for visiting us today. Please stay warm and be safe. Have a great weekend and week to come. πŸ™‚ xxx

A Little Joy on a Snowy Day

Image

image
I thought I would post a few photos of Joy, a 1966 NP, on this cold and snowy day.

image
A photo taken from the window this morning after the snow began to fall. The weatherman predicts 12-20 inches of snow to fall today.  It is nice to be home. ❀

image
Joy has blue eyes. πŸ™‚

image
I love this pretty smocked dress made by Millie Dingham.

image
I put a dark green corduroy dress made by Ruth’s Dolls on Joy. Β A nice member of the facebook Sasha group asked for photos of our redhead dolls wearing green. So Joy came to mind. πŸ™‚

image
Joy’s leather boots are marked Ruth’s Dolls and her green socks were made by Lorraine Tyler.

A closer view of Joy.

A happy day with Joy. πŸ™‚

Thank you for visiting Sasha friends. πŸ™‚ xxx
