I thought I would post a few photos of Joy, a 1966 NP, on this cold and snowy day.
A photo taken from the window this morning after the snow began to fall. The weatherman predicts 12-20 inches of snow to fall today. Β It is nice to be home. β€
I love this pretty smocked dress made by Millie Dingham.
I put a dark green corduroy dress made by Ruth’s Dolls on Joy. Β A nice member of the facebook Sasha group asked for photos of our redhead dolls wearing green. So Joy came to mind. π
Joy’s leather boots are marked Ruth’s Dolls and her green socks were made by Lorraine Tyler.
I love your red hair Joy. Do have your own favorite color for her. I have a red hair brown eyed girl and have been trying to decide what l like on her. She is wearing a white background with blue flowers and a muted mauve. Its cute I have not got it right. Stay safe in all that expected snow. Karen
Hi Karen! Most everyone loves green on redheads but I grew up with reddish hair and always preferred to wear blue. I love Joy in blues too so I think that blue would be my favorite color for Joy! Keep up your efforts with your redhead girl and you will find her best color. Thank you for writing and the very lovely comments! π xxx
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I should have said she is the 1970 red haired girl. Much like the color of your girl.
Joy is a ‘joy’ to see on here Ginger! And I like her best in the flowered dress I think, but maybe because it is smocked, I do love smocking! I like the white collar on the green dress though, it adds a bit of light between the dark green dress and her face π She looks to have lovely hair.
My goodness you do have a lot of snow there, I hope you will keep safe and warm, and not go out in it unless you really have to.
Sending big hugs, Sharon xx
Hi Sharon! Thank you for the lovely comments! I like the smocked dress best on Joy too! I think the white collar with the light blue ricrac really looks nice with her face and blue eyes. π
We are having a lot of snow and it is still snowing! I think we will get at least a foot of snow. Fortunately, I can stay indoors since it is a holiday here, President’s Day! π xxx
Joy is Gorgeous Ginger and looks lovely in both her dresses. I was so happy for you when you found her! π
We are such babies here if it snows just an inch never mind 12 to 20 !!! I hope it’s not to bad if you have to get to work tomorrow, take care π xxx
Thank you Dee! I was so happy to find Joy too. She is a wonderful doll to dress and I, like you, do love the red hair on Sashas!
It is snowing still and not showing any signs of stopping. Hopefully the snow plows will make it out to our area! π xxx
Beautiful photos as always! Joy looks like a real little star.
I know that people lament the snow but I would love to see it again. I have only been to the snow once, about 20 years ago. I am lamenting my weekend sunburn right now and that’s from a gal who’s always sun-safe.
Take care,
Verity-Kate xxx
We have an English expression….’A joy to behold’……and your Joy certainly fulfils this saying!
I like her the best in the green cord dress with those green knitted socks look great with it.
When I first heard about the Facebook request of ‘reds in green’ I immediately thought of the 17th March, St Patricks Day…. but then realised that that isn’t until another months time.
I’m a ‘snow-loving’ girl providing that I don’t have to travel/drive in it but just view it from the inside, combined with a little outside play and photograping time.
Me too Kendal! I have really enjoyed the snow this time from the inside looking out! So glad you enjoyed Joy in her green dress. We will have to find some more green dresses for St. Patrick’s Day. My, how the time is flying by! Thank you for writing! π xxx
Thank you Verity-Kate! So very nice that you like Joy! We ended up with about a foot of snow! That is more than we usually get at one time. I love it! I hope you get to see snow again! π xxx
Me toooooo! So jealous! xxx
I always love seeing Joy, she has such compelling eyes. She looks so pretty in her dresses too, those intense colours look so good against her flaming red hair.
Hi Janet! Thank you for the lovely comment about Joy! I was so lucky to be the first one to buy her on Shelly’s site. I love her eyes too and do love those 1966 eyes very much. Have a great day!!! π xxx
