You might remember Ryder that was shown here on the blog recently. I bought Ryder years ago from a member of the Sasha Mart and he came to me redressed very casually. I have wanted to see him dressed nicely and was lucky to find a handmade school boy outfit on Shelly’s site recently. Β Ryder is a Gotz straight nose boy made in the 1960’s.
Is this really Ryder? Yes, it is Ryder! I took photos both indoors and outdoors with the weather cooperating. π
Ryder standing next to the very sweet Fara, a 1968 English blonde fringe girl. Fara is wearing a new outfit also found on Shelly’s site. It came with a matching coat and a pretty beret. Her shoes were made by Monica Jarpey.
A close view of the well dressed pair π
Fara is one of my “low maintenance” girls. She was an ebay find some years ago and she came with beautiful, bouncing curls and she has kept them even today. Fara looks great in everything I put on her. Very easy on the eye! π
Fara wearing her pretty coat and I love the ric-rac trimming on her dress. Β The next photos will show Fara and Ryder outdoors.
A good full view of the handsome Ryder. One of Ryder’s happiest memories is when he spent time with Henry and Lorraine in the UK last year. He saves his special momentos from that trip in a trunk by his bed. π
Ryder really likes his new outfit. π
The dress ties in the back with a generous bow. Fara’s long curls can be seen in this photo.
We had a small visitor during the photo shoot. It was a fast moving caterpillar! I took a quick photo though and caught him before he left us. π
A last photo of the happy pair. Fara and Ryder thank you for visiting Sasha Shangri-La. They both are sending you hugs and their good wishes for the rest of the week! π xxxx
Those outfits belonged to me Ginger! I am so glad Fara and Ryder have them now, they look wonderful. xx
Wow, that is great Janet! I love to see the Sasha outfits that make their rounds among collectors. Being the eldest child in my family, I missed receiving hand-me-downs from an older sister. I know that some of my friends that were younger sisters did not like getting used clothes but I always thought that I would like getting pre-loved clothes. Thank you for letting me know! π xxx
I am the oldest too Ginger so never got hand me downs either. I have photos of me and then my sisters in my beloved dresses. xx
Lovely to see Ryder dressed like this. It is funny when I saw the first sentence I thought wouldn’t he look great a little suit or ‘Sunday Best’ and a school uniform is kind of like that. What a wonderful boy he is. Fara looks pretty gorgeous as welll! Henry says hello!
True Lorraine but unfortunately, I do not have a suit for the boys so I improvised a bit. It is the dressiest boy’s outfit that I have and we do not have school uniforms in our area. If Ryder wore this great set to church, he would be considered to be over dressed these days, Most boys wear casual tops and pants to church which is very different from when I was a child. Christmas and Easter are still the exceptions. π
Thank you for the kind comments. I really like to see them in different types of clothing. Great fun! Ryder says hello to Henry and Emily too! π xxx
I love Ryder in his school uniform , he looks so smart and would look great wearing that to Church.
Fara is gorgeous, I so love the 68 girls and boys, my favourite year!. Fara’s outfit is lovely and the colour suits her well. I love Sasha’s and Gregor’s in the smart clothes of our youth, they also look good in the up to date clothes but that old traditional look, bellissima!!:) xxxx
Hi Dee and thank you! I love the 68 children too! Fara is my second fringe girl to adopt and Faith was the first one. They look so very different from one another and I really love both of their individual looks.
What a joy it is to have time with these lovely dolls and to dress them differently. Sasha herself was a master at dressing her creations and she understood how that expression would wonderfully resonate in our hearts. β€
Ryder and Fara are both beautiful children, I remember seeing Ryder before and thinking how handsome he is….I also saw Sarah Williams Straight Nose Gotz boy and fell in love with him too! Fara has a lovely face and nice hair too. I love both the kids in their new outfits, don’t they look great and so well turned out! I think both of them look so good in blue tones. Thanks so much for sharing this lovely pair Ginger!
Big hugs Sharon xx
Hi Sharon! I saw Sarah’s Gotz boy too. His eyes are just wonderful.:). Thank you for the nice comments about their outfits and the dolls too. I really enjoyed dressing them and taking them outdoors for photos. It is a real treat! π xxx
Two very lovely and smartly Sunday dressed kids!
For several years after WWII mine and my eldest brother’s school coat, blazer, scarf and beret/cap were used as our best and only outdoor clothing due to the continuation of the clothing coupons.
Thank you Kendal , it is always wonderful to hear from you! :). I am happy you liked their new outfits! I hope to take more photos after I leave work today. Have a beautiful weekend! π xxx
Hi Ginger , what a handsome pair. I love Fara and her coat xx
Hi Theresa! Thank you very much! π xxx
Your couple is looking great and I must/can admit that your sharp nose boy is the one with the most beautiful eyes! I just do β€ him. xxx
Thank you Liss! So nice to hear from you and that you enjoyed the post! I love Ryder’s eyes too! A special boy π xxx
