Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

image

Well most of the boys here at Sasha Shangri-La posed for a photo with their pups. We had a good time getting together and moving around a bit though still indoors. Surely Spring will show herself soon!

image

These three boys are all wearing waist coats made by Ted Menten. I love how handsome they look.

image

This brunette boy is named Bob and he has his original striped stringing in his arms and in his legs which indicates he is a 1969 boy. His hair is fragile and breaks off. As a result, his hair style gives him a bit of a rough and tumble look. I think his eyes are just wonderful. Β They look very soulful to me.

Here is a full length shot of the handsome boy.

The blonde boy is a PJ boy I bought from Kelly. He is very petite and is from 1970. His name is Joey and he is a very sweet and kind boy. He has a lot of scrapes and dings on his body from a previous life. He is very happy here now among his brothers. Β They all look out for one another.

Next is my beloved Quinn, a 1968 shorts boy. I was so lucky to find Quinn on Shelly’s site. He was dressed in a white t shirt and jog pants when he was adopted. I have since located the original shorts boy shirt, shorts, belt and age appropriate underwear for Quinn. I found gray non-original socks but have yet to find his dark leather laced shoes with heels.

This photo shows the shoeless Quinn. I will keep up the search for Quinn’s shoes and if anyone has a spare pair, please let me know πŸ™‚

This handsome boy is Hans. I bought him from Jackie Kraemer at the Sasha Festival last year. Hans is another of those “happy mistakes” with his brunette hair and nice blue eyes. I just think he is so pretty but he does not like to be called pretty ;). He is a denim boy from 1974 and was a factory experiment that was not continued. He came in his original outfit which is stored away for him.

  1. Love all your boys Ginger, I do have a soft spot for the boys. Ted’s waistcoats look very nice on them and I like that they all have their own dog and do not have to share taking a dog for a walk and therefore getting in fights! πŸ™‚
Especially love the group photo, I always find these so interesting seeing them all standing together .
Do you only collect Sasha’s and Gregor’s of a certain age?
    Hugs Dee x

  2. Thanks Dee! I seem to collect the older boys and girls mostly. I do have a couple of new Gotz and a Pinntuck, sweet Pinny who visited Henry and Lorraine last year. Usually it is their eyes that speak to me and the older dolls just have remarkable eyes πŸ™‚

  3. What a great group of lads. They look so nice in their vests and outfits; and they all appear to get along so well! Finn and his puppy seem especially close πŸ˜‰ Thank you for sharing them, Ginger!

  4. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of these wonderful and varied boys Ginger. Each one is very special indeed. For my shorts boy I am looking for an original shirt and socks! Let’s be on the lookout together. Janet xx

  5. After years of not being as attracted to the Gregors as I was to the Sasha I have now, since the advent/birth of Dollydoodle’s hoodies, joggers and saggy beanies, come to love them as much as the girls…., and so suddenly find myself at present with thirteen of them.
(Hoping to take a photo of them in a line up next month.)

Like you, I have gone for the earlier models with a slight preference for the brunette, brown eyed lads (again like you!) …..although do have three blondes and one red head to provide a variety, (again it’s almost a Snap!)

(I’ve just noticed that it was obviously you who had snapped up my Pinestreetstudio denim jeans with the learther knee patches from Sashadolluk!)
Will try to show my boys this photo of your lads later on, as I’m sure that they will be very interested!

    • I love your boy’s photos in the Dolly Doodles outfits. I remember other photos of your boys wearing wonderful sports outfits. Your boys have certainly inspired me and when I adopted Finn, my appreciation for the boys dramatically changed. Please send kind greetings to your boys from my boys! We love the hand-me-downs from Shelly’s site πŸ™‚

  6. Hi Ginger i love the photo of all the boys together, especially the little lad in the yellow top with the foot balls on it . Is he a re-paint?

    • Hi Theresa! That boy is Brett. I was told by the original owner that his blue eyes were original from the factory. She received him as a gift for her son from a friend who lived in the UK in the late 1960β€²s. He is a 1969 boy. If true, he is a factory β€œmistake” and if not, the repainting is very well done and enhances his boyish charm and I am very happy with him. You do not see many boy repaints where they remain a boy! πŸ™‚

  7. What a handsome bunch of lads you have there Ginger! I love all of them, but those redhead shorts boys are just sooooo special, aren’t they! And Bob, he looks like a bit of a Jack the Lad to me with his pose and his hair, love him!
I need to make more boys clothes for mine as I have two boys standing around naked at the moment. They do have some clothes but they are demanding more…..I’d better listen to them very soon or there might be a revolt!!!!

    • Yes Sharon, please sew for the boys! Your boxers and socks are so very nice. If you can manage enough boy’s outfits for your boys and perhaps an extra one, I would love to add to the boy’s wardrobe here at Sasha Shangri-La . Thanks for stopping by πŸ™‚ xxxx

    • Yeah! Quinn is even more special now!! Thank you so much for letting me know that he was yours. He is just wonderful and fits in very well with the boys. Thanks for writing πŸ™‚ xx

      • You are most welcome…I am so glad you love him πŸ˜‰ I don’t really read the Sasha blogs much now, but just saw your post by chance…and I am so glad I did! You have a some super Sasha kids!!

  8. You’ve got such a good collection of boys and their pets. I hope spring does find its way to you very soon, it has in our part of the UK thankfully, the March daffodils are still blooming (though some are beginning to droop), blossom is out and the birdsong is wonderful.

    • Thank you Anna! We have daffodils now and some trees are beginning to flower. We may get more snow this week, I hope we stay on the warmer side. Our song birds are very active now too. I love this time of year πŸ™‚
