Claudia on the Long and Winding Road

Image

image

I just love Claudia, a very sweet 1968 dungarees girl.  She is wearing a dungarees outfit beautifully made by Ruth’s dolls.  Her white leather sandals were made by Jean Jensen.  I was able to take a few photos of Claudia on the long and very steep road that leads through the woods and to our cabin door way out back. I hope you enjoy them 🙂

Oh My Goodness Gracie

Image

image

Well, Gracie has taken Sasha Shangri-La by storm and is really shaking things up! The past few days have been so lovely with perfect, not too hot temperatures and no rain :). Gracie was so excited to meet her new family and she has a winning way with everyone! At Gracie’s insistance, we went outside and laid-out a blanket on the grass to enjoy the day. Gracie is sitting very still and lady-like and she thinks no one can see her but, her big brother Finn did see her!  Gotcha ya Gracie!!!

Finn and his pup Fetch are in love with the new baby, Gracie 🙂

image

Finn asked me to take a close up of sweet Gracie.

image

Gracie invited shy baby Ginger and sweet little Betsy to join in the fun. They look so sweet together and what a nice diversity of Sasha dolls with a vinyl baby, a studio bebe, and a Gotz toddler–all in a row and very happy :). Gracie asked them both if she could try on their dresses. She was convinced their dresses would fit her too. So baby Ginger was first to offer up her dress.

image

Gracie said ” Look, it fits me too!” But baby Ginger looks a little shy since she is the only one without a dress on. Gracie could tell that baby Ginger was shy and so she asked Betsy for her dress.

image

Gracie was so happy and said” Look Betsy, your dress fits me too!” Baby Ginger is much more at ease now that Betsy is without a dress too. Gracie kissed them both for being such sweet and generous sisters 🙂

Gracie showing the lovely dresses. The pretty pink dress I received in a swap from Diane in the USA. The lovely blue dress was made by Joan Wilson who sadly passed away this past year. Both dresses fit Gracie well and snapped easily in the back. The skirts are not cut as full as Thu Cuc Faes studio dress and they were hemmed shorter too but they do fit. Gracie quickly returned the dresses to her sisters not wanting to cause them any further anxiety.

Three happy girls 🙂

Finn returned and wanted to hold the babies especially Gracie 🙂

One last Finn photo with precious Gracie. He is so very fond of her and is sure to be the best big brother :).  We all had a great time outdoors.   Finn and Gracie sends hugs to you! xxxx

I Love Gracie

Image

I have wanted to add a studio bebe to my Sasha family but have not seen any that were available to adopt. Then recently, Shelly listed a beautiful studio bebe and I at first thought that I should wait longer to add a studio bebe.  Of course, I kept returning to the page over and over again and staring at the sweet little girl.  I finally decided to not wait and thank goodness she was still for sale 🙂

image

So, yesterday evening when I returned home after work, I had a wonderful Shelly box waiting for me to open. Look, who is it?

image

Oh my, what sweet little feet you have!

image

Wee, wee, it’s me, it’s me, sweet little Gracie 🙂

image

What a beautiful little girl!! She was a bit tired from her journey though she made the trip across the Pond in 7 days–fast 🙂

image

This is the first time that I have held a studio bebe in my hands and I had a lot of questions about her size. So, I carefully removed Gracie’s beautiful dress and undergarments and found a measuring tape. Gracie loved being in the “buff” especially after experiencing the recent confines of her box. She is playing with the tape, so sweet 🙂

image

Mommy, how big am I?

image

Gracie, you are 13 inches tall! I also measured Gracie’s head and it is 9.75 inches around. Her head and arms move well and her legs are sewn to her torso and they are slightly curved. Her gypsum head is wonderfully formed and she has molded eye lids. Her eye and brow painting gives her a delightful, inquisitive expression. Her human hair wig is soft and baby-like.

A close up of Gracie after Mommy tied her hair with ribbons and in little bunches 🙂

A full length photo.

Gracie made friends quickly with her sweet nature and inquiring personality. This photo of Gracie with baby Meg gives you an idea of her size. Aren’t they cute?

Gracie found a teddy to hold.

This last photo was taken by Shelly and Gracie looks so sweet that I wanted to share it. I am so very happy that Gracie is here with me and her family at Sasha Shangri-La.  I love her and I think she loves me too ;).  Gracie and I wish you a wonderful weekend and send you big hugs too 🙂 xxxx

The Lovely Sylvia

Image

image

Sylvia is the newest member to the Sasha family. I was fortunate to be able to purchase her from a collector here in the States and she is shown in the new Sasha Dolls Serie Identification book under eye painting (photo #37). I must say that her eyes did indeed capture my heart.  I love her sweet expression and her red hair which has had some trimming. She does have a full center part.  Please excuse the stray hair over her left eye.

image

Sylvia traveled to me in her original brown cord outfit which is safely put away. She is wearing a cheery Nellie Rose dungarees outfit purchased from Shelly’s site and previously owned by Kendal.  I love to be on the receiving end of Kendal’s Sasha wardrobe and was lucky to snatch up this well made outfit.  Sylvia’s shoes were also on Shelly’s site and are from Ruthsdolls.

Another photo showing Sylvia’s hair length and confident pose. Welcome dear Sylvia to Sasha Shangri-La!
