Pretty Girls in New Outfits

This lovely brunette has repainted eyes by Shelly. Her name is Nancy. πŸ™‚

image
Nancy’s lovely outfit is an ebay find and was made by Nadia in Switzerland. It arrived here a few weeks before Christmas. Β I really like it on Nancy and she is a bit taller than most of the girls here so the slacks worked very well for her. Β Her nice leather boots came with an outfit made by a talented lady in Scotland whose name escapes me.

A close up view of Nancy. I think she is beautiful. πŸ™‚

Next is Jean, a bobbed hair girl that I suspect was made in 1970 though she had no stringing to go by when she arrived here at Sasha Shangri-La. I was lucky to find a girl with her hair cut because I would not attempt hair cutting which is better left to more capable hands than mine. Her lovely cardigan was made by the talented Linda Simpson of the UK. I bought her dress from Shelly’s site and do not know the maker. Her shoes are made in the Kathe Kruse doll factory in Germany. πŸ™‚

Rena, a 2001 Gotz-Yamka

Rena, a 2001 Gotz-Yamka

Please meet Rena, a 2001 Gotz girl also known as Yamka. She picked out this lovely ballet outfit to wear as soon as she was liberated from her tube. πŸ™‚

image
Rena has wanted to be a ballerina ever since she saw the Nutcracker way back when she was born in 2001. So now she finally has her own tutu and ballet slippers. A dream come true for Rena! πŸ™‚

A pretty and serious ballerina, Rena. ❀

The sweet waif Val has been wearing Sharon’s Ra-ra outfit since it came out of the package months ago. When this new outfit came several weeks ago, I convinced Val to give it a try. She agreed only if she could keep her purple striped socks on plus her much loved purple leather shoes made by Jean Jensen. That was all well and good for me because Val looks delightful in this ensemble. πŸ™‚

image
This pretty dress, with very nice detailing, was made by Maureen Hellenbeck of the Upstairs Doll Studio on Etsy though I did find this dress on ebay. I think Maureen sells on both places. πŸ™‚

image
I love this dress and especially the fabric, the stacked buttons, the neckline and the length! Β  It is just a fun outfit to wear! Β Val will always be a special waif to me because she came in a tiny box with no stringing in sight. Her hair has always had its own way too but that’s okay with me. Β She is a fun, trendy girl. πŸ™‚

A last photo for this post of dear Val up close. Have a wonderful week everyone!!! πŸ™‚ xxx

Another Christmas, Long Ago

Image

image
Christmas always brings to the forefront of my mind, thoughts of Christmas past.  I thought I would share this most precious of my possessions, a photograph of my beloved Grandfather, Harold Long. I am five years old in the photo and I loved every moment spent with this gentle and kind soul. He passed away when I was seven but my recollection of us together is amazingly clear and strong.  What a gift! ❀

Happy holidays everyone and I hope you enjoy your blessings with your families and friends! Much love! ❀

A Christmas Gift of a Sasha Doll

Image

image
This little lady made a Sasha dream come true for me. I had yet to own a 1967 NP with red hair and now, thanks to my dear husband, that dream has come true. Β She made a safe trip from Germany and arrived in about seven days no worse for her journey and happy to be liberated from the box. πŸ™‚

image
She came to me wearing a dungarees outfit which is nice to have and is safely stored away. Β Her previous owner sent unexpected and delightful Christmas gifts with her which are absolutely perfect for Christmas. Β Please excuse my photo taken on a patterned quilt. I was so excited when I opened the wrapped gifts that I was lucky to have been able to remember to take a photo! The wooden elf ornaments are adorable and such a thoughtful addition. The beautiful knitted red sweater has a satin ribbon woven around the waistline and it ties into a bow for a nice feminine touch. The red gingham dress has a full skirt with a bottom ruffle. I love the white collar which looks especailly nice with her sweater. Β A very pretty outfit! πŸ™‚

image
Time for a few photos around the Christmas tree. Β Look, a sock monkey!

image
The lovely red leather shoes and socks were made by Ruth’s dolls. πŸ™‚

image
I hope you like how I styled her hair which has been trimmed to a longer bob length. The ribbon was from her Christmas package. ❀

image
Ellen was one of the first girls to say hello and she had to retrieve her shoes and socks from her new sister because they go with her outfit. Β We found a nice pair of red leather boots for her new sister to wear. πŸ™‚

image
The boots were made by Jean Jensen. ❀

image
Sylvia extended a warm welcome to her new sister. Β  Sylvia is usually very shy but she was noticably happy to meet her new sister. πŸ™‚

A pair of reds wearing red!

Tilly is next to say hello and gives a warm welcome to her sister from the Sasha Shangri-La family. πŸ™‚

Smile for the camera girls! πŸ˜‰

Adeline is also very happy to meet her sister. πŸ™‚

I think this ia a very nice angel. Β I think that I will like living here! πŸ™‚

A close view of my Christmas girl. She then whispered to me her name, it is Zoey. ❀

Another view of the lovely Zoey for you to see. ❀

As I write this, it is now Christmas in the UK and all of us here want to share a Christmas card photo with you.  This little lady is the newest addition to the Sasha Shangri-La family and a Christmas gift from my dear husband.   She was born in the UK in 1967 and she is celebrating the holiday season with us.   I will share more photos of her soon. ❀

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful and blessed holiday with your family and friends! πŸ™‚ xxx
