Christmas always brings to the forefront of my mind, thoughts of Christmas past. I thought I would share this most precious of my possessions, a photograph of my beloved Grandfather, Harold Long. I am five years old in the photo and I loved every moment spent with this gentle and kind soul. He passed away when I was seven but my recollection of us together is amazingly clear and strong. What a gift! ❤
Happy holidays everyone and I hope you enjoy your blessings with your families and friends! Much love! ❤
What a lovely sentiment Ginger. Love to you and yours!!
Lovely Ginger, what a wonderful memory and photograph to have. Thank you for sharing this precious moment with us.
It is wonderful the memories we carry with us through life of loved ones no longer here but that have a place forever in our hearts. Thank you for sharing your Granddad with us Ginger. :)xxx
What a lovely memory, grandparents are special friends and we are lucky to have had them.
Such a wonderful and treasured reminder of the ‘good old days’ gone by. Lucky you!
(Unfortunately I don’t seem to have anything like this being born during the War II years.)
A lovely photo, you are so lucky to have known your Grandparents. I only knew my mothers Father as the others died before i was born. My Granddad Pop, was a great character, with his pipe and knitted lurex waistcoat that my mother knitted for him. He died at the age of 96, when i was 11 years old.
What a lovely photo and special memory – it is so good to have photos from childhood times to remind us of the people who helped shape our lives.
