Simon Says……

Image

image
A very early Caleb has found his way to Sasha Shangri-La. His name is Simon. Simon says “get ready to travel”. πŸ™‚

image
I was struck by this ebay photo of Simon and could not resist a buy-it-now to adopt him. Simon says “sit and pose for the camera” πŸ˜‰

image
A watercolor of Simon (all watercolors are computer generated). πŸ™‚

image
However, this photo of Simon is what prompted my hand to click the ebay buy-it-now button with much haste! Considering his handsome profile and early original outfit, that was all good but I saw something else in this dear boy’s expression that I had not seen before…. Simon says……… “SMILE” πŸ™‚

image
A close up of Simon….do you see what I see? Simon says “look closely at me” πŸ˜‰

image
Simon was anxious to go outdoors. So we put away his original outfit for safe keeping and found jeans and a t-shirt for him to wear. His outfit is from Sashapotamus. His blue leather sandals were made by Jean Jensen. Simon says “I love my outfit”. πŸ™‚

image
I began to wonder if I would ever see Simon smile again. Simon says “where amΒ I”? πŸ˜‰

image
A close-up photo of Simon and a most serious expression…. Simon says “my, there is a lot to see here on the farm”. πŸ™‚

image
Simon found a lawn mower. Simon says “I like it here”. πŸ™‚

image
Simon says “my, what a big seat this is!!” πŸ˜‰

image
Finally Simon found a chair to help him rest a bit and reflect on his new surroundings. Β Simon says “I am happy here”. πŸ™‚

image
I think Simon will be happy here at Sasha Shangri-La. We are very happy he is here with us! Β I also think I am beginning to see a change in his expression! Simon says…….”SMILE”. πŸ™‚

image
Yes, there it is!!!! Β That delightful and charming smile at last! Β  Simon says “come and smile with me, the best is yet to be”. Β πŸ™‚

We will keep a watchful eye on our sweet Simon and share his dear emotions with you. Simon and I both hope that this post has brought a smile to your face! Β Have a wonderful weekend! πŸ™‚

Keep a smile on your face dear Sasha friends. Sending you happy wishes! πŸ™‚ xxx

Please meet Lizzy, Gertie’s Sister

Image

image
Some of you may have seen this lovely photo taken by Janet Myhill Dabbs and posted on facebook. Janet hand painted this lovely girl and gave her aΒ new life! She had previouslyΒ been a Pintucks girls with a bobbed wig and overall needing a lot ofΒ help. Janet gave her a spa treatment, a new pintucks wig dyed to this delicious new chestnut Β color, restrung her, and created the gorgeous outfit you see her wearing in the photo.Β This new girl’sΒ name is Lizzy. ❀
Lizzy and Edith
Gertie was so excited about meeting her new sister Lizzy. Gertie was looking and relooking at her photos and especially this photo of Lizzy taken with her twin, Edith. ❀

image
So, a week or so later, Lizzy arrived at Sasha Shangri-La and this photo is the first photo taken of Lizzy with Gertie. πŸ™‚

image
Gertie and Lizzy together. I braided Lizzy’s hair because I love braids so very much. Braids remind me of when I was a little girl and they also remind me of my Mom who wore braids most of her childhood. Her braids were captured in many old photos that I now treasure dearly. ❀

image
An up close photo of Gertie and Lizzy. πŸ™‚

image
Gertie brought her dear ragbaby, a gift from Edith and Janet, to share with Lizzy and help her to feel at home. πŸ™‚

image
Lizzy was so happy to hug the ragbaby. πŸ™‚

image
Lizzy presented a gift from Edith to Gertie.

image
Gertie was so happy to receive this handmade sling shot and bag with ammunition! Gertie wants to practice her accuracy on Dad’s firing range one day soon. πŸ˜‰

image
A delightful and thoughtful gift from Edith and so very special with a forked twig from Gertie’s homeland in the UK. Thank you so very much Edith and Mommy Janet too! πŸ™‚

image
A touch of the hand and a tender moment between sisters. ❀

image
Much love between these two dear sisters. ❀

image
Now, let’s look at a few photos of just Lizzy. Janet used vintage William Morris fabric. I love this pinafore and its lovely, muted colors. ❀

image
Her clogs are woolen and have a nice accent of an embroidered pattern. πŸ™‚

image
A close up of Lizzy to better see her eyes and I love those freckles too! ❀

image
Dear Lizzy ❀

image
Lizzy again. πŸ™‚

image
I think Lizzy will love her new home here at Sasha Shangri-La. ❀

Gertie rejoins her sister. πŸ™‚

A nice, full view of the happy pair. πŸ™‚

In parting, a watercolor (computer generated) of Lizzy for you to enjoy. Thank you for visiting us and we hope you enjoyed this post! Lizzy, Gertie and I are sending you hugs and happy wishes for a wonderful week to come! πŸ™‚ xxx

Golden Girls……Ga Ga for Gotz

Image

image
These are the earlier, golden eyed Gotz girls that live here at Sasha Shangri-La. ❀

image
This sweet girl has been introduced before and her name is Diana. She is dressed in a Ruthsdolls outfit with an added bolero. πŸ™‚

image
Next is the confident Amber and she has also been introduced before. She is wearing a dress made by Frances Tricket. πŸ™‚

image
You may remember this lovely girl named Mae. Her dress was made by Jadzia. πŸ™‚

image
The lone brunette is the beautiful Briana and she is wearing a new dress by Molly and leather sandals by Paula of 4-Angels. Oh how I love those brows! ❀

image
This very beautiful and early redheaded girl has a no mold line torso which makes her my earliest Gotz girl. Her name is Rae and she is newly adopted. Her dress was made by Hagnolly and her t-shirt was bought from Sashapotamus. Her checked fabric shoes were made by Ruthsdolls. ❀

image
This lovely and very early girl also has a no mold line torso. Her dress has a tiny tag that informs “Made in France”. Her rose colored soft leather shoes were from Sashapotamus. Her name is Annie and she is also newly adopted. ❀

image
The redheaded girls look very different from one another and that is easy to see when you put them beside each other. Amber is a 1966 girl with a small head and Rae is a 1965 girl with a large head. I really love the hand painting of the eyes and brows on the 60’s Gotz dolls. Each girl is very unique in appearance and personality too. πŸ˜‰

image
The blonde golden girls Diana, Mae and Annie. Β They are also very different from one another in appearance. Annie is the earliest girl and was made inΒ 1965. πŸ™‚

image
A happy trio! πŸ™‚

imageAnother trio photo. πŸ™‚

image
A few photos of Briana.  I love her new butterfly dress made by Molly.  I added a butterfly hairclip too. ❀

image
Briana’s leather sandals were made by Paula of 4-Angels. A fun flower accent. πŸ™‚

image
Another photo of sweet Briana. πŸ™‚

image
Hello Rae! Β I thought to take photos angled from the side. Rae’s hair is very long and silky. πŸ™‚

image
A lovely full view of Rae. Β She is a very kind girl and she loves to read. πŸ˜‰

image
I really love the soft and silky hair on all of these golden girls. This shade of red is so very nice too! ❀

image
Annie is a pretty girl. πŸ™‚

image
I wonder what she may be thinking about? πŸ˜‰

image
A full length view of Annie for you to see. πŸ™‚

imageIn closing, a watercolor of Rae generated by the computer. Rae and I both thank you for visiting us here at Sasha Shangri-La and we hope you enjoyed this Golden Girl post. πŸ™‚

Annie and I are sending you Sasha hugs and happy wishes for a wonderful weekend! πŸ™‚ xxx

Abby and Gertie in new dresses

Image

image
This is Abby, an early Sasha studio doll with a cloth face and yarn braids. She has a type A body and a facemask I, and so she is an AI studio doll. Abby’s limbs were replaced by Trudi Loffler and I have her original worn limbs stored away. Β I love this beautiful girl. ❀

image
Abby’s sweet face was painted by Sasha herself and most of us that love Sasha studio dolls can see her hand there—I love Abby’s face. ❀

image
Abby is wearing a new dress made by the Kathe Kruse factory. Β Her nice leather, navy sandals were made by Thu Cuc Faes. Β  I think she looks lovely in blue. πŸ™‚

image
The outfit came in this useful garment bag with labeled wooden hanger and a cute shoulder bag that I forgot to take out. Β It is nice to know that this size of a Kathe Kruse dress (45-48 cm) will fit a Sasha studio doll or a course doll. πŸ™‚

image
Abby with her flower basket. πŸ™‚

image
A side view of sweet Abby. ❀

image
A full length view of Abby.

image
Next is dear little Gertie wearing a new summer frock. πŸ™‚

image
Gertie is wearing a dainty white eyelet blouse with a round collar and puffy sleeves. The blouse came with another outfit and I like it teamed with this pale blue and pink summer dress with pink flowers vining down both sides. Β Both pieces are untagged and are from Shelly’s site. πŸ™‚

image
Gertie loves her ragbaby gifted to her by her twin sister Edith and Edith’s Mommy, Janet. Β Her white leather sandals were made by Jean Jensen. ❀

image
Gertie up close. ❀

image
Not the best of light but I tried to show Gertie with one of the few remaining lilies. The resident deer population continues to pluck up the lillies during the night and eat them so we are usually left with just the stems. Β I imagine that they taste sweet and are maybe a dessert for them. πŸ™‚

image
Some watercolors (computer made) to enjoy. πŸ™‚

Abby and I want to thank you for visiting with us here at Sasha Shangri-La. We wish you a beautiful week to come! πŸ™‚ xxx

Mi…Mi…Mi…Mi………Mimi

Image

image
First, I thought it would be appropriate to show this very sweet photo of a darling little Gotz ponytail girl taken by Sarah Williams. When Sarah posted this photo, she was adopting her out and I was either not quick enough or did not have the financial where-with-all but the result was, she was adopted by another…

image
Moving forward in time, I saw that Dee in the Village had adopted this dear little girl and I learned her name was Mimi. Moving forward in time again, Dee is looking to adopt Mimi out and, this time, I was the lucky Mommy! πŸ™‚

image
Mimi has a unique, slightly pouty, slightly sad expression that is so endearing that it enlists your heart and you must pick her up often!!! ❀

If you look to her left side of the mouth, you will see a few small lines or impressions. Β A similar line or impression was also found near my Marcie’s Β mouth and I understand that they were made when the head was removed from the mold. Β So, I am referring to them as “birth marks” and I have one too on my arm. ❀

image
A photo of Marcie taken by Ellen Church. A beautiful Gotz no navel. ❀

image
Dee sent Mimi in this sensational, casual outfit including the white patent tennis shoes/trainers. I like this look very much!

image
Mimi is a go-getter and she motivates others around her, including me! πŸ˜‰

image
She captured my heart right out of the box. ❀

image
Hi Mimi so nice to see you! πŸ™‚

image
Do you remember when I posted this photo of Whitney wearing one of Sarah’s beautiful creations? At that time I also won a second dress from Sarah with thoughts of Mimi in my mind. Β  I shared this with Sarah because it seemed so fitting that Sarah’s one time Sasha doll should now be wearing a dress made by her. πŸ™‚

image
Mimi in her Vintage Sasha outfit wearing pink leather shoes by Noreen Walters. ❀
image
Mimi loves her new, very pretty dress!

image
Mimi up close. πŸ™‚

image
Mimi selected pink ribbons for her hair. And oh, those pouty pink lips! πŸ™‚

image
Mimi also selected this rag doll to love. ❀

image
I reallly like the ponytail Gotz girls and Mimi is the first Gotz ponytail to reside here at Sasha Shangri-La. πŸ™‚

image
I hope you have enjoyed Mimi’s story in this post. πŸ™‚

image
I am very happy Mimi is here and wearing her new dress! Thank you Dee and thank you Sarah! ❀

image
As a parting gift, a watercolor (computer created) of Mimi for you to enjoy. Have a wonderful week to come and, for the sake of pure joy, hug a Sasha that is close to you. πŸ™‚ xxx
