A Gotz Boy

Image

Some time ago, I bought this handsome, straight nose Gotz Boy who was missing much hair. Here are his first “before” photos.

I knew I couldn’t re-root the boy, so I contacted the very talented Jackie Rydstrom who kindly agreed to help the boy regain a full head of hair. I sent him off for his hair treatment and here are his “after” photos taken by Jackie.

What a handsome boy! I am very grateful to Jackie for her excellent work.  I took a couple of photos yesterday for you to see.

A very handsome lad and our sole Gotz Boy here at Sasha Shangri-la. Thank you for visiting with us. We hope you have a wonderful day and week to come. 🥰

The Rest of the Story…

Image

I wanted to share the rest of the story about Gracie’s studio dress. My recent post about Gracie’s dress was really the end of an interesting and happy story.

In August, I received emails from an online auction house that routinely contacts me when the word “Sasha” is in the title or description of an auction item. This particular email was about an auction involving several interesting Sasha studio dolls that really perked my interest.  So I clicked on the link to have a look.

There were some very nice dolls in this auction located in Switzerland. One doll was a redheaded early Gotz girl with ochre eyes. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to her because I was focusing on the beautiful studio dolls.

This is the photo as shown by the auction house!

The written auction description said that the dress was labeled. I then thought it must be a studio dress but not for the usual size Sasha studio ( ranging from 19-22 inches) but a smaller studio doll like a Sasha studio bebe. Also, noting the length of the dress and sleeve length on this 16 inch tall vinyl doll, I was pretty certain this would fit a Sasha bebe.

I was so excited because Gracie, a studio bebe, came to me in a lovely but unoriginal dress.  I had hoped to one day find her a studio dress of her own. I registered for the auction and placed my high bid. I won!

My kind friend from Switzerland, who retrieved the doll after I had won the auction, sent these photos to me with the happy confirmation that it was a studio dress for a bebe!

Sasha label

Fast forward to today… Gracie is so very happy with her new studio dress and I don’t think she will take it off anytime soon.  I have a couple of additional photos of the happy baby girl. (I am getting better at posting photos 😊)

Before I forget, there was also an addition to the Sasha doll family….the sweet girl that modeled Gracie’s dress. She, too, is very nice. I dressed her quickly in a Ruth’s doll outfit having Fall colors.

Gotz Girls

Isn’t she sweet? I haven’t named her yet.  She has a nice early Gotz wrist tag with the blue thread. She is standing next to a wonderful no-navel Gotz girl I recently adopted from Dee.  Her name is Hazel.  So lovely to see them together.

Thank you for visiting us today here at Sasha Shangri-la.  I hope you enjoyed the “Rest of the Story.”  Gracie and I are sending you happy wishes for a great day and week ahead. 🥰

A Cabinet Peek ❤️

Gracie’s Dress

Image

I haven’t posted on the blog for a very long time as you probably know. A new dress for Gracie arrived today from Switzerland and her excitement was so contagious that it rubbed off on me. She wanted to try it on, take her picture wearing it, and post her photo on the blog.

I recently found the tagged studio bebe dress on a Gotz vinyl doll in an auction in Switzerland. I bid and won. A dear friend picked up the doll and mailed it to me. Sasha friends are the best. 🥰

So, I am trying to post on the blog, which has changed in format, but I will try. Fingers crossed…..

Gracie and I are sending you happy wishes for a wonderful weekend. 😊

A Beautiful Brunette Fringe Girl

Image

This beautiful girl was the new addition from the Sasha Festival that joined us here at Sasha Shangri-La. She is very special to me for several reasons. First, I adopted her from a special friend and that means so much. Secondly, she is the first brunette fringe girl to join our Sasha family. Finally, she is really very beautiful and a joy to see.

This sweet girl came with her wide, original mini-checked, gingham dress that aren’t often seen. She is so nice.

A few photos and then a reveal of her name.

Please meet Angela. 😇

Angela and I thank you for visiting with us today. Have a wonderful week. 😊

Tammy a Toddler

Image

A sweet toddler has arrived at Sasha Shangri-La. She is an “Elke” toddler but she immediately told me her name is Tammy. So hello and welcome Tammy.

Tammy’s red leather shoes with darling white flowers were made by Monica Jarpey. She also found a furry friend to keep her company. She named him Ted.

A few close up photos of Tammy.

Thank you for visiting with us today. I hope to post soon the new additions to the family that came home from the festival. Have a wonderful week Sasha friends! Tammy and Ted are sending happy wishes to you. 😊
