About mountainmullins

Sasha doll collector primarily plus other interesting dolls. I inheirited my love of dolls from my dear Mother and also her collection. My first Sasha doll was Gwennie, a redheaded studio doll. Since Gwennie, I have collected other Sasha dolls and love their individual personalities created by their eye painting, hair color and styling, and dressing them. It is such fun to share with other collectors!

Toddle Time for Toddlers

Image

image
Hi! My name is Betsy. I live here at Sasha Shangri-La with my loving brother and sisters though I have been the only toddler.  My sister, Gracie, acts like a toddler but Mummy said she really is a bebe with a toddler heart. ❀

image
I love Gracie so much. She holds my hand to show me she cares and she is a wonderful sister. ❀

image
Gracie is wearing a beautiful, new dress and shoes, socks, and hat made by Thu Cuc Faes who lives in Switzerland.

image
Gracie’s dress is blue like mine! I really like the red ladybug button on the front. I have butterflys on my dress. πŸ™‚

image
Gracie, I love you! ❀

image
Gracie’s lovely outfit.

Betsy, Gotz Toddler

Mummy took this photo of me when I first arrived at Sasha Shangri-La. As much as I love everyone here, I have secretly, in my heart, dreamed of having a sister like me to play with and to love. ❀

Drum roll please….

image
Well, dreams do come true and please meet my sweet sister, Ellie. πŸ™‚

image
Ellie is almost my twin. Mummy said we were both named Iona at one time. I feel like Ellie is my twin sister. ❀

image
Mummy shared that Ellie was made in 2001 in Germany at the Gotz doll factory just like me! Β She came to Sasha Shangri-La in her original outfit and tube which are safely stored.

image
Ellie has been redressed by Mummy in an pretty outfit found on Shelly’s site. Her leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen. You might be able to see the faint JJ marks on the soles of her shoes.

image
A pretty gingham ribbon seems to work well with Ellie’s head of beautiful curls.

Ellie toddling and on the move.

Ellie. ❀

I gave Ellie a tiny puppy to hug. πŸ™‚

Gracie welcomes Ellie. Β Gracie shares with Ellie that she is a toddler too just like Ellie and like me! Β Well, at least in Gracie’s mind, she is a toddler! Β Gracie says that she has to be a toddler since she gets around the farm more than anyone and a baby cannot walk, right?? Β Ellie believes Gracie and loves her with all of her heart. Β We all love Gracie! πŸ™‚

image
Well, look here and how nice it is to see us three sisters together. πŸ™‚

image
Gracie wants you to see that she has legs that do “toddle” very well! Β That is how she moves around when Mummy is not watching. πŸ˜‰

image
Three sisters in a row sharing sisterly affection. πŸ™‚

image
Loving sisters up close.

Gracie without her hat.

image
Ellie and I want Gracie to stand up but….

image
Gracie says let’s sit down to wave goodbye to everyone that has visited us.

image
We are also sending big hugs and well wishes for the week to come. πŸ™‚

A parting, framed gift of dear Ellie, from me, Betsy, to everyone that loves toddlers. ❀

Sweater Weather at Sasha Shangri-La

Image

image
Hello there and good morning! Here at Sasha Shangri-La, we had our first frost yesterday and so we are embracing the beautiful Fall season and dressing colorfully and wearing our cardigan sweaters or affectionally called, our cardis for warmth.

It took a while to sort out the outfits but the outcome was worth it. Each girl is holding a favorite soft animal and sometimes they exchange animals among themselves. Β It is very nice to share with others. πŸ™‚

image
A few random photos taken of the girls indoors and as they were lined up.

image

image

image
Redheaded girls, Joy and Sylvia, both 1966 NP with early eye painting but different colors. ❀

image
Pretty blonde NP girls. Β They each have their own, unique look.

image
A happy gathering of the early 1966 girls that share the same vintage.

image
The sweet 1967 girls in a row. πŸ™‚

image
Chloe on the left was made in 1966 and Adeline on the right was made a year later. It is so nice to see the brunettes together to compare and contrast their features. Β Later, after the day warmed up, we went outdoors to take a few photos.

image
It was such a beautiful day and this is Hope wearing a Ruthsdolls outfit with a warm cardi made by Mary Anne Getchell. Β Her leather shoes and striped socks are made by Ruthsdolls. Β Hope’s hair was cut very short at one time. Β She has now been wonderfully rerooted by Pat Pellerito and I love her long hair. ❀

image
Next is Tilly wearing her favorite dress made by Lorraine Tyler. Her cardi was knitted by Mary Anne Getchell and her lime green leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen.

image
Next is my sweet Carney wearing a lovely dress made by Nikita. Her aqua sweater was knitted by Mary Anne Getchell and her peachy colored, leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen.

image
Lovely Ellen is wearing a floral dress by Molly. It has a nice, full sash that ties in the back to make a generous bow. She loves this dress very much and wore it often last Fall. Β Her sweater also knitted by Mary Anne Getchell and her socks and leather shoes are from Ruthsdolls. Β Did you notice her blue bird pin?

image
Adeline is wearing a whimsical, printed dress made in France. I love the ricrac trimming sewn on her rounded collar. Β Those types of special touches really make for a special dress. Her pink leather shoes were made by Jean Jensen

image
Adeline once again because I love seeing her pretty face. ❀

image
Joy is wearing a pretty smocked dress made by Millie Dingham and a colorful cardi by Mary Anne. Β Her shoes are by Ruthsdolls. It is hard to cover up the beautiful smocking on her dress but one must keep warm. πŸ˜‰

image
Joy shown from a different view.  I love her blue eyes and very thick hair. ❀

image
Sylvia is wearing a dress by Jadzia and sweater by Mary Anne Getchell. Her lovely knitted socks are made by Gillian Nash and her chocolate brown, leather shoes are by Sashapotamus.

image
A diiferent view of Sylvia. Β Her eyes are a very pretty brown color. πŸ™‚

image
Chloe’s lovely sweater was knitted by Linda Simpson of the UK. Her dressed is tagged but has a photo of a watering can on the label and no name so I do not know the maker. Β Chloe has very deep, blue eyes. ❀

image
Chloe’s olive green, leather shoes are by Sashapotamus.

image
The last photo is of the girls lined up once again and sending you hugs and sincere wishes for a beautiful week to come. Β Thank you for stopping by and spending time with us. πŸ™‚ xxx

Sylvia and Adeline

Image

image
Sylvia is becoming very friendly with Adeline. She gave Adeline a sock monkey to play with and that sweet gesture made them fast friends.

image
Both girls are wearing light weight coats due to feeling a slight nip in the air.

image
Sylvia was happy to take Adeline outdoors. The air felt clean and cool on their faces.

image
Sylvia is a 1966 NP with lovely brown eyes. I love her innocent expression. πŸ™‚

image
A close view of Sylvia.

image
Sylvia’s pretty coat was found on Shelly’s site though I do not know the maker. Her corduroy overalls were made by Mary Anne Getchell who sells on Etsy. Β Her dusty pink suede shoes were made by Jean Jensen.

image
Adeline loves the outdoors too. We added red knitted socks to keep her feet warm πŸ˜‰

image
A close view of sweet Adeline.

image
Adeline tried on another pretty outfit made by Carol Ann Marsh of the UK. Adeline loves her sock monkey!

image
A full view of her skirt and sweater.

image
A last photo of Adeline next to little Gracie. Gracie already loves Adeline very much and calls her ” my sweet Addie”. Gracie is also giving you a sneak peek of her new outfit by Thu Cuc Faes. There will be another post soon of this dear, little poppet, Gracie.

From Sasha Shangri-La, Sylvia, Adeline, and Gracie are all sending you hugs and they wish you a very happy weekend! πŸ™‚ xxx

Sweet Adeline, My Adeline

Image

IMG_6941.JPG My grandmother’s name was Adeline and I have always loved the name “Adeline”. It was also my mother’s middle name. This is the first time that I have been so moved to name a Sasha doll in memory of my grandmother and my Mother. It was an immediate heart connection. ❀

Adeline is a 1967 brunette NP that I was very fortunate to find on Shelly’s site. When I first unwrapped her and saw her sweet face, I just instantly connected with Adeline. <3. One brunette NP has lived here at Sasha Shangri-La for years now and her name is Chloe. She is a 1966 girl and she has a very different, unique look so we are very happy to adopt sweet Adeline. πŸ™‚

IMG_6943.JPG Adeline is wearing a lovely outfit also found on Shelly’s site and made by Sashadollstyle. I love the fabric and pretty butterflies and perfect blue trim. The outfit came with the dress, detachable belt, pants, socks, leather shoes, and headband. I did not put the headband on her this time since I like Adeline’s hair style the way it is, at least for now. πŸ™‚

IMG_6945.JPG A close view of Adeline.

IMG_6947.JPG Adeline enjoying her new outfit.

IMG_6957.JPG We went outdoors to take photos of Adeline wearing a very pretty dress made by JoAnn Staricha.

IMG_6965.JPG JoAnn showed this pretty dress and coat set on facebook and took orders so I signed up! JoAnn lives in the USA and her well made outfit came quickly in the mail. I ordered it with Adeline in mind. πŸ™‚

IMG_6961.JPG Another view of the pretty dress.

IMG_6959.JPG The outfit came with the shorts and a pretty top too.

IMG_6977.JPG Adeline really likes her new clothes. She arrived wearing her original gingham dress and was most ready for a change. We put her gingham outfit safely away for another day.

IMG_7062.JPG JoAnn’s maker’s tag is sewn in the coat and the hood is lined with the dress fabric–wonderful! JoAnn also sent a pretty butterfly hair clip and a cheery thank you card. Adeline is fast becoming a lover of butterflies. πŸ™‚

IMG_6962.JPG A last photo for today of sweet Adeline. She is very special to me. Adeline and I are sending you hugs and we wish you a very wonderful week to come! πŸ™‚ xxx

Sunday Best for Ryder and Fara

Image

Ryder, Gotz Straight Nose Boy

Ryder, Gotz Straight Nose Boy

You might remember Ryder that was shown here on the blog recently. I bought Ryder years ago from a member of the Sasha Mart and he came to me redressed very casually. I have wanted to see him dressed nicely and was lucky to find a handmade school boy outfit on Shelly’s site recently. Β Ryder is a Gotz straight nose boy made in the 1960’s.

image
Is this really Ryder? Yes, it is Ryder! I took photos both indoors and outdoors with the weather cooperating. πŸ™‚

image
Ryder standing next to the very sweet Fara, a 1968 English blonde fringe girl. Fara is wearing a new outfit also found on Shelly’s site. It came with a matching coat and a pretty beret. Her shoes were made by Monica Jarpey.

image
A close view of the well dressed pair πŸ™‚

image
Fara is one of my “low maintenance” girls. She was an ebay find some years ago and she came with beautiful, bouncing curls and she has kept them even today. Fara looks great in everything I put on her. Very easy on the eye! πŸ™‚

image
Fara wearing her pretty coat and I love the ric-rac trimming on her dress. Β The next photos will show Fara and Ryder outdoors.

image
A good full view of the handsome Ryder. One of Ryder’s happiest memories is when he spent time with Henry and Lorraine in the UK last year. He saves his special momentos from that trip in a trunk by his bed. πŸ™‚

image
Ryder up close.

image
Ryder really likes his new outfit. πŸ™‚

image
Fara in her new dress.

image
The dress ties in the back with a generous bow. Fara’s long curls can be seen in this photo.

image
We had a small visitor during the photo shoot. It was a fast moving caterpillar! I took a quick photo though and caught him before he left us. πŸ™‚

Fara wearing her coat.

Fara and Ryder together.

image
A last photo of the happy pair. Fara and Ryder thank you for visiting Sasha Shangri-La. They both are sending you hugs and their good wishes for the rest of the week! πŸ™‚ xxxx
