This is Dane, a Harlequin, created by Janet and inspired by a studio Harlequin.  Dane’s head is larger than the vinyl dolls and is the size of a course doll head mold.  Janet used pencils I think to create his amazing expression.  He has long and lanky cloth limbs. His wig is mohair and perfect for him.  He is holding a prized Liberty apple pin cushion. ❤️

Well done Holly! I think she looks a little bit happier! ❤️

Next, I will show photos of the studio renditions made by Janet.  They were inspired by the outstanding books “Sasha-Puppen” by Till Schaap and “Sasha Dolls. the History” by Anne Votaw. ❤️

  1. Thank you my dear friend for this lovely post. It always surprises me to see the dolls I have painted close up as, even with my glasses I don’t see that amount of detail! Now they have lived with you I can look at them all objectively, they do make me very proud. I am honoured that you enjoy my creations so much Ginger, it warms my heart. xxx

    • Good morning Janet. I am so happy you have seen this post of your amazing dolls. Plus it is so special that you can see their painting up close and you can cast your discerning eye over them once again.

I give Kendal all the credit for this post. The recent repainting week on facebook prompted me to post photos of your studio renditions and Kendal asked how many dolls reside here on Cow Creek. That led to my thought that it would be great to show them all together in one post. 😊

Thank you Janet for sharing your amazing talents with us. As you can see, I love your creations very much. I know you continue to have orders from doll lovers all around the world. Your art speaks to our hearts. ❤️ xxx

  2. Many thanks Ginger for such a quick and fabulous response to my recent request to find out how many and which ones of Janet’s studio replicas YOU own (…and with an added plus of those extra wonderful dolls.)
Janet’s eye painting is truly fantastic and almost ‘out of this world!’ A superb talent that gives us all so much enjoyment from seeing and admiring them. I only have one of her customised creations in my Sasha Brood Collection but my Clarise/Gertie is very much treasured.

Your Gertie has to remain my very favourite of your ‘Janet’ dolls with The Berliner, Lizzie, Heidi, Kate , Smoochie and the 1900 baby closely following.
When we were at the SCW in May Chon and I asked Father Christmas for a rag doll baby for Clarise so hope that he remembers..
Thanks again Ginger for this outstanding post and to Gertie, Lizzie, Gus etc for their kind wishes for the coming week.

    • Good morning Kendal. I am so happy that you have seen this post which was inspired by you! I agree that Janet’s painting is truly amazing and each doll is a very special and an individual creation that speaks to us. ❤️

Gertie is my favorite too though I love every doll very much. I hope Father Christmas brings your Clarise her rag doll. It would be a very special baby doll for your beautiful Clarise. I kept coming back to your Clarise at the SCW to see her face over and over again. She has the purest form of beauty in her painting. So very, very touching. ❤️

Thank you for your comments and I always look forward to reading your insightful words that respond to the beauty of the Sasha dolls that we love so much. ❤️ xxx

  3. A lovely post Ginger showing us your Janet art collection. I of course love Gertie and her Sister Lizzie , how lovely to have the two of them and Lizzie so dark haired , I love her.

I also love Holly your JMD little poppet, she was the one that made me decide I need a. Poppet of my own 😊 Her sulky sister is very sweet too.

Thanks for sharing your collection, it was fascinating to see all the different styles and creativity in your JMD family. Xxx

    • Thank you Dee. The Gertie dolls are all very wonderful. I love your Maudie May very much and her outfit is perfect for her. The poppets are really lovely and I have always loved cloth dolls so it was easy for me to love Janet’s poppets. ❤️

I am glad you enjoyed the post. It was a longer post for me but I enjoyed gathering the dolls together for photos plus I added a few older photos to show different outfits or different locations. Great fun on Cow Creek! 🙂 xxx

  4. What a spectacular tribute to Janet’s artistry. I absolutely loved seeing this post. Thank you, Ginger, for sharing your group of Janet’s dolls with us. I’ve now received my second makeover by Janet. When I get around to taking pictures I’ll post my Little Ice Maiden. She’s sober and shy, just as her name suggests, yet quietly beautiful.
You have put up a wonderful showing of the many moods Janet can portray.

  5. I think a couple of these had sneaked in without my noticing! Such a lovely and interesting group Ginger – Janet’s artistry is wonderful. I like imagining these lovelies living in bliss at Sasha Shangri La ❤

  6. WOW Ginger! You have some beautiful creations there by Janet! What a lovely group of repaints, and their outfits too are gorgeous. You must be very pleased with them all. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
    Big hugs Sharon xxxx
