There have been a few new additions to the Sasha Shangri-La family that have not been shown on the blog.
Today, I am very happy to introduce to you a new boy. Please meet Markus, a CIII Sasha Studio boy, hand painted by Sasha Morgenthaler, made of gypsum and adopted from a lovely person living in Switzerland that showed his photo on Facebook in order to find him a new home. ❤
Markus is a scout boy and wears his original outfit and flag. 🙂
I have taken photos of Markus with and without his hat and I absolutely love his wig which is thick and wavy and has a bit of curl too. ❤️
I checked Markus’s feet and sadly, there are no remaining marks that Sasha would have penciled on the bottom of his feet. I think he is possibly a 1950’s boy. He has been loved and he is not a “minty” boy which is perfect for me since I can enjoy redressing him and I will have no worries about causing his first “ding”. 🙂

Ginger he is indeed Marvelous ! and Markus is the prefect name for him ! How wonderful to have this incredible boy scout to come live with your Sasha family. A fabulous fair and great hair and he looks so serious in his scout uniform, like he’s keeping a look out for anything he can help with.

Congratulations on being the proud new owner of this fabulous boy Ginger…I wondered who the super lucky person was! 😉 A scout is a great lad to have around the farm, I am sure he will always lend a hand and be a great helper!

Markus is superb – how lovely to be able to offer him a new happy home. He needs a tent for his campout and a sleeping bag to go with the wonderful Scout uniform.

How wonderful to see one of the Studio Boy Dolls… and such an attractive one as this.
You see SO many of the girls that I’m wondering if anyone knows just what the girl/boy manufacturing ratio was? Love the eye/hair colouring and simply ADORE his fabulous Scout outfit. How marvellous that it has ALL remained present and intact as so often the loose pieces, like the flag pole and hat tend get lost over the years. (How much of his clothing is labelled with the Sasha name tapes?)
Sorry though to hear that his foot markings have disappeared/erased themselves over the years …but perhaps these can hopefully be researched.His type III face mould is my very favourite of all the four facial styles.

Hi Kendal and thank you! I would love to know the ratio of studio girls to studio boys. It seems that there are far less boys than girls. I wonder if anyone kept records of all the studio dolls and descriptions of the dolls and their outfits. Wouldn’t that be wonderful to understand….a Sasha Studio Doll Inventory? 🙂
I love his scout outfit too. I checked and there are no labels on his clothing. It is so nice to see a Sasha label so it is a bit disappointing. The outfit is wonderful and is very well made. Markus does have his wrist tag on the left wrist. 🙂

Marcus is just amazing Ginger, I just love everything about him. A few bumps and grazes are part of being a good scout. His eyes are so similar in their treatment to my girl. She was made in 1950 so I would say your Marcus is from about that time. I just adore his outfit, everything there too, how lucky you are to have such a rare boy. I love his wavy hair by the way ❤

Oh Ginger, what an incredibly handsome lad Markus is. I am catching up but going from newer posts to old, so have seen him in his different new outfit…and my goodness he’s a little heart throb in both outfits! I love his face, his wavy hair and those cute legs, he really couldn’t be any more handsome, could he!
And he couldn’t have found a nicer place to come home to than to join the Sasha Shangri-la clan 🙂
