I could not resist adding Janet’s Studio Doll Project book to my cherished Sasha book collection. ❤
Well, you might be asking, did you buy a Sasha doll. Well, yes I did and I am so thrilled to add this precious girl to the Sasha Shangri-La family. I am happy to introduce…..drum roll please………………………………
Please meet Janet a very lovely side part brunette NP made in 1967 and with non-falling hair! She is wearing a new outfit and her Rosie Bloom shoes were selected by me at the SCW raffle. Fabulous shoes! Her dress was donated by Jackie Kraemer and was also selected at the SCW raffle. While visiting with Tricia afterwards, we noticed the sleeves were a bit big for these petite girl. So, Tricia created juliette-styled sleeves by sewing gathers in places. I love the look, thank you Tricia!

Close up photo of Janet. Who is that? Tucked under her arm???
It is Fergus and a simply wonderful bear. Fergus was a gift from a dear Sasha friend and given to me at the SCW. I love him!!! Janet immediately bonded with Fergus too and they are now inseparable. Fergus has helped her adjust to her new home. 🙂
I saw Janet on the first day of the SCW but the owner was unsure about whether to part with her. On the last day, Sunday, the owner brought the doll over to where Janet and I were sitting and we both were admiring the doll. I shyly asked if she had decided whether to part with her and she said yes! So Janet came home with me to join our Sasha family. I did rename this lovely girl because Janet just seemed like the perfect name for her. ❤
Janet’s outfit that she wore at the SCW.
Lovely steel blue corduroy dress by Irene and leather shoes.
Janet’s drawstring travel bag was gifted by the previous owner and it is the softest linen with hand embroidery to include a heart. Just so wonderful. ❤
A close up of Janet and Fergus. ❤
After returning home, we unwrapped Finn’s ostrich marionette and we were so happy it made it back in one piece. Well designed DollMum! 🙂
A close up of the ostrich. 🙂
A beautiful outfit by Frances Tricket I selected at the raffle.
A thoughtful gift from Kendal and I think I did see her passing these out to the group. Bronson has his eye on these toys! 😉
Gifts from Janet and she picked them up at the pound table during the SCW. Very nice vintage handbags!
As a note, I packed for this trip very lightly. I had one carry on bag and one brief case which served to hold the dolls and my handbag items. I did this because I had a very tight connection in the airport coming back which would not be possible if I had checked luggage. I proceeded by looking up on the internet how to pack for 10 days using carry on luggage and it really helped to downsize and pack properly. However, once I added the lovely new Janet, my Mary that had been staying with Janet since I adopted her from Shelly’s site, plus all of the items above, I no longer had room for everything. I left Mary with Tricia who will bring her next month to the Festival. Mary is happily visiting with Tricia’s doll family. Also, I left a couple of purchases and some clothing at Janet’s house and some items at Tricia’s house too. I was prepared to mail them back to me but Tricia and Janet have room for these things since they want to have room for their Festival purchases that must return in the luggage. At the end of the day, it all sorted out nicely and I was able to catch that plane out of Boston on the way home. 🙂
A waterlogue image of Janet for you to see. Thank you for visiting Sasha Shangri-La today and the next post will cover the amazing trip with Tricia to Paris, France! 🙂 xxx
Oh Ginger! Such lovely items! I enjoyed seeing each and every one. I especially loved the gorgeous pinafore and dress for the Studio/Course by Marilyn Hotchkiss, as well as the smocked goose dress. It’s wonderful to see so much of Janet’s work. She is very talented. I am especially excited to see my Lydia on the cover of her Studio Doll Project book! Many congrats to you in adding the very lovely NP girl, Janet to your collection Ginger. Her and her companion Ferguson make a wonderful pair.
Thank you Cathy!!! I am glad you enjoyed the post. Marilyn’s dress is fabulous and fits Mary perfectly. I love her smocking too! I hope we will see more Studio/Course doll size outfits made by Marilyn. 🙂
I noticed your Lydia immediately and she is now a Cover Girl. It is a great book! Janet, my new NP, is coming along very well as is Fergus. They are surrounded by Sasha love living at Sasha Shangri-La! ❤ xxx
OH! Oh and oh again!
What a fabulous selection of ‘loot’ you returned home with gathered together from SCW group gifts, raffle prizes, private gifts from Sasha friends, sales table buys, outfits {plus a Course Doll} collected from previous ordering, and finally not to forget your stunning latest NP doll buy, now re-named Janet,.All well worth taking priority to return to the US with you over your other luggage.
It looks like Christmas, birthdays, Easter, anniversaries etc all rolled in together.
How I’d love to go and enjoy that weekend all over again.
Many thanks from Me and The Brood for making this long haul journey to the UK to meet us. We were so thrilled to finally meet you, Gertie and Finn..
It certainly was a lot of “loot” and I am amazed that I fit most of it in my small bag and briefcase…minus some of my clothing that was left behind of course! It was very clear whose outfits were the most important! Not mine! 🙂
I would love to go again too Kendal. It was so much fun and I loved meeting everyone. Also, to meet you and Chon and to see your fabulous Sasha brood in person was just the best of times. Please give your Gertie a big hug from my Gertie and Finn. 🙂 xx
Well Ginger It looks like you had a very GOOD time at the sales tables 🙂 and also with other items! It’s just as well you decided to not bring to much with you. But these events are way to tempting for purchasing an item of two, after all you need to take something home for those dolls that could not attend 🙂
Nice to know the Rosie Bloom shoes went to a good home , I love her shoes and so wish she would come back to making them for sale. I love the outfit Janet made for Gertie that she wore to the SCW and what a gorgeous girl you added to her family, Janet is wonderful and Fergus looks the perfect Panda bear to help her make friends at her new home.
You did good on those raffle prizes 🙂 Many thanks for sharing with us :)xxxx
The salesroom was fantastic and I had little willpower. Plus the raffle time was so much fun and for such a great cause. So, having traveled quite a distance, I decided that I would be “all in” with each event at the SCW. And it was such fun!!!!!
I love the Rosie Bloom shoes and was lucky to get them. Janet’s sweaters and matching hats were grabbed up by Gwennie and Brigitte though they were made for Mary. It was nice to bring back studio sized clothes for them. They do not travel often and loved their new clothes. 😉
Fergus is just the cutest panda bear in the world! He stays with Janet and everyone here on Cow Creek loves them both. Fergus is a very happy bear! 🙂 xxx
Janet is so pretty and I love her bear. I hadn’t seen her travel bag, which is lovely. Mary is very happy with my Emmy and my course girl, but looking forward to travelling to the USA and her real home in 3 weeks ❤
Thank you Tricia. I am glad Mary is spending time with your lovely girls. It is hard to believe the festival trip is only 3 weeks away! I can hardly wait!!! 🙂 xxx
WOW Ginger, all I can say is WOW! You did have a great time around those sales tables! 🙂 What a lovely lot of loot you’ve gone home with….or in some cases, not quite gone home with yet 😉
And that lovely brunette girl, how beautiful is she! It’s lovely to see all the nice things you purchased and I look forward to seeing them here on your blog being modelled by your beautiful girls.
xxx
Thank you Sharon! I did have a great time around the sales tables and they were fantastic! I am glad you like Janet too. She is a pretty girl and she has totally adapted to her new home. A wonderful Sasha! I loved the time spent in England and I am still pinching myself that we have met in person! What a special, special time! 🙂 xxx
You are soooo lovely Ginger 🙂 I was so glad to be able to get there to meet you! xxxx
That really is some delightful and bountiful loot! The closeup photos of Little janet are just wonderful, I think I remarked at how painterly her features were rendered. She is a very special girl.
A lot to bring back in my small carry on suitcase. It was stuffed needless to say! Janet is a beautiful girl and the Waterlogue program loves her features. I think she is special too and she is a perfect reminder of the happy times spent at the SCW. Thank you Janet.❤️ xxx
