Heaven in England – Part 4

The Sasha Celebration Weekend (SCW)

image

We arrived at Eastwood Hall on a beautiful day!

image

image

Janet looks very happy to be there!  The trip from her house was an easy one. 🙂

image

A strange photo but I love that tree in the distance.

image

The lobby where we entered already shows signs of a special Sasha event.  Theresa was already very engaged in wonderful decorating of Sherwood Forest and a few merry men.  She was also providing friendly car services for travelers. 🙂

image
Lovely program for the SCW. I managed to get it home without folding it. 🙂

image
A wonderful time ahead for us all.

I was so very happy to meet Kendal after years of writing back and forth on blogs, it was a dream come true for me.  I was thrilled to have a part in setting up Kendal’s Sasha brood display. ❤

image

image

Kendal and her lovely daughter Chon.  Many thanks to Chon for her super assistance in bringing Kendal and her stunning Sasha dolls to the SCW and helping to unpack and display them.  So beautifully done! 🙂

My photos were taken at different times during the set up of the Kendal’s Sasha Brood.

Little Miss Nobody, I think! 🙂

So many stunning, gorgeous Sasha dolls.  I was in Sasha heaven’ ❤

Miss Lippy looking quite wonderful and I really liked the special pine cones Kendal placed here and there.  Lovely neutral and yet natural display background for her Brood. ❤

Fabulous no navels 🙂

image

Clarise or Gertie 2.  Wonderfully painted by Janet. ❤

image

It was wonderful to see Kendal’s studio dolls to include her studio bebe plus her lovely course doll. 🙂

Eastwood Hall tree

While walking around the premises with Janet, we came upon Dee and Paul taking photos by a fabulous tree that I had noticed through a window while walking inside of the Hall.  I asked Dee if she would take a tree photo for me since I had left my phone/camera in the room and here it is!  Thank you Dee!  What a fabulous tree! ❤

image

Lovely antique paper dolls donated by Ann Chandler for a silent auction.  So nice to see the cake pops again! 🙂

image

A beautifully wrapped present from Kendal to me.  Thank you Kendal! ❤

image
Inside is a wonderful box of chocolates with Gertie’s photo on the box top. How thoughtful! 🙂

image
image
I love this box and will keep it with my special Sasha gifts. ❤

image
The chocolates were delicious and Rick enjoyed them too! 🙂

imageA photo of the instructions to assemble the marionette in DollMum’s workshop.  The plastic lid was a work surface to use glue when needed.  I loved having the detailed instructions which gave me confidence that I could do it however, I still needed some individual attention from DollMum and she graciously provided me assistance.  Great fun and Finn loves the marionette! ❤

I was able to make a quick Sasha mask and to sew a button on Jane’s knitted bag but do not have photos of them.  Sadly, I missed Emma’s shoe workshop and Judith’s play mat workshop.  All of the workshops were wonderful and many thanks to all of the ladies for donated their time and talent to conduct them. 🙂

image

Not the best lighting but some random photos of the dolls in the back of our meeting room.

image

My Gertie dressed in a new outfit made by Janet.  I think it is Dee’s wonderful Jamie next to her on her left and Ann Chandler’s Rachel on her right side.  The beautiful brunette Gotz girls holding the marionette belongs to Janet. 🙂

image

The Sherwood Forest display early before everyone arrived.

image

Janet made these fabulous course doll outfits and you may recognize my Mary who is Maid Marion above.  I love the costumes!

image

Peek-a-boo, I see you there among the leaves! 😉

image

image

Janet’s brood. ❤

image

I think most of these lovely children belong to Diane Duke. 🙂

Congratulations Jonny!  He won the last raffle item which is a fantastic customized Sasha by Janet.  A wonderful way to end the raffle time which was all very enjoyable.

I think everyone there won a prize or two and it was such fun to watch the happy faces of those while they were selecting their prizes.  I loved that time together. ❤

I realize now looking at my photos and comparing them to other blog posts that have already been posted about the SCW, that I certainly have some major gaps in my coverage of the events.  I think I was so very focused on meeting everyone and enjoying the time together, that I did not always think about the camera.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing these photos too. 🙂

I had the very best of times at Eastwood Hall and experiencing the events of the SCW.  I will always remember my special visit to Nottingham and meeting so many of my dear Sasha friends. ❤ xxx

note:  I will post photos next on the blog of the sales room purchases. 🙂

  1. Wonderful wonderful wonderful to see these photos and remind us of such a lovely time we all had together. It’s so lovely to see others photo’s as they are always from a different angle and therefore something different will appear that was not seen or noticed on the day.
I shall be back to look over these again because each time something new appears.

Many thanks for sharing these Ginger and I noticed how you lingered on Kendal’s Gertie/Clarisse
I just love both your Gertie and Kendal’s Clarisse and Janet’s Edith .. sigh
looking forward to the next installment of your uk trip 🙂 xxx

    • Thank you Dee and I am so happy you enjoyed the photos. I seemed to have taken a lot of photos but only covering a few things. So it is nice to know you liked them!

You are correct, I did linger around Gertie 2. I really love her and the way that she is different and yet like my Gertie. Janet is so very talented! ❤

I hope to get a few posts completed this week because the Sasha Festival will soon be here!!! 🙂 xxx

    • Oh thank you Theresa! I just edited Miss Nobody’s name. She is gorgeous! I wish we had more time together too. It was very nice to see you and your lovely family Thank you for all of your efforts which made for a terrific time there at Eastwood Hall. 🙂 xxx

  2. Lovely lovely photos Ginger, thank you so much for sharing. I know what you mean about photos, I forgot to take any!!!! I actually left my camera in my room after lugging it with me from home! LOL oh well! Saying that, it’s been fun to see everyone else’s photos instead, saved me taking, editing and uploading my own LOL.
    xxx

    • Hi Sharon and thank you! I am glad my photos were nice to see. Thank goodness we had our photo taken together because I would not have one of you! It was such a great time!!! 🙂 xxx XXX

  3. I can’t begin to tell you just how THRILLED and DELIGHTED I am with these photos of The Brood especially as there wasn’t much time in the end for me to take many of them all gathered together although I’m still planning to take some individually with a few words about each one..
I just love OUR Gerties and Janet’s Edith dolls! Such a precious group!
Many thanks again for all your unpacking help when setting up the display Every hand was needed with completing this mammoth task in the short time available. Hoping too that it gave you a better chance of seeing at close quarters each and every one individually.
I was rather disappointed that my little Jac Robin Hood didn’t get to spend much time on Theresa’s Sherwood Forest display due to being the Polo player in the Brood’s display but luckily there are a couple of Sunday’s photos with him on. Great idea of Theresa’s too to use it as a welcome to us when checking in at Reception.
    BTW Loved your Ostrich marionette!

    • Wonderful Kendal. I am so happy you enjoyed the photos! I love our Gerties/Edith too….they are very, very special girls. I look forward to your future post where you write about some of your brood. It will be great reading!

It was perfect to be able to help with the display and, yes, it did provide a wonderful opportunity to see your brood up close. Your Sashas are just so beautiful and I love how you dressed them. I had wanted to help with the packing but when I reached the room, it looked like Chon was wrapping up the packing and nearly done. What a special daughter. ❤

I just unwrapped the ostrich marionette yesterday and all its body parts made It home safely. The next post will show Finn and the marionette since he loves it so much! 🙂 xxx

  4. What a wonderful time you had! I have been reading your posts and studying your pictures thoroughly. Thank you so much for sharing with the Sasha community through your blog. I was thinking of all of you while the CSW was going on.
Also, loving your blog header picture. I usually read your posts through email, so hadn’t seen this picture that I recall.

    • Hi Julie, yes it was a fantastic time and it far exceeded my dreams for the trip. Thank you for letting me know that you are enjoying the England posts. The header is of dear Finn and it was taken at Alnwick Garden while visiting with Janet Myhill-Dabbs. We want to return to England as soon as we can! 🙂 xxx

  5. I just had a real treat, re-living the SCW through al the photos you’ve taken, Ginger. It was a real pleasure to finally meet you (and Finn x) and I’m so glad you enjoyed the trip over and got to see so many things, thanks to Janet and Tricia. I’m very glad you brought your camera 🙂 xx

    • Thank you Linda for writing and it is nice to know that you are enjoying the SCW photos. I am so happy we met too!! Plus it was special to meet your lovely Mother. Janet and Tricia were the very best hosts and I was really in heaven the entire holiday. I am so grateful to them for extending to me their gracious hospitality. ❤

I see you have a Sasha blog! How wonderful and I will be reading your Sasha posts. 🙂 xxx

  6. I’m glad you have the fun of helping Kendal set up her brood display – what a wonderful privilege to handle all those dolls!
It was a pleasure to have you at the marionette making workshop – you did a great job, especially as you said you don’t do crafting very much. I got enormous pleasure from observing how everyone made their marionette entirely unique by the way they assembled and decorated them and am relieved that I pitched them about right for maker time and ease/difficulty (hence the comprehensive instructions just in case).

    • Thank you Doll Mum for writing and it was all joy helping Kendal with her fantastic brood display! Thank you too for the very kind comment about my marionette making ability…..I think it was just a perfect project for me to attempt and the time seemed perfect too. I was glad to see the directions and I am the type of person that reads the directions so I think it assured me to have them there. It was a great workshop! 🙂 xxx

  7. aaah, how lovely al of these photos and comments are. Thank you Ginger for recording such lovely memories of our Sasha Celebration Weekend.
