Happy Memorial Day from Mae

image

Memorial Day is a time to remember the men and women who have dedicated their lives in our armed services.    It is through their sacrifices that we have the freedoms today that we enjoy.  I would like to extend my deep appreciation to all those who have served in the military.

All gave some…some gave all. ❤️

Several more Mae photos for you to see. She is an ochre eyed Gotz girl and a waif. She wears a lovely dress by Frances Tricket. ❤️

Have a great week! 🙂 xxx

  1. Oh, what a really pretty dress Mae is wearing for this special day. BTW. Is it a day just for the US soldiers or has it worldwide recognition? Is it rather like our Poppy/Rememberance Sunday if it’s just for the US soldiers? (Talking about the UK’s Sunday closest to November 11th I must remember that I have got some rather special photos to post then.)
I don’t think that I have ever seen background shots like these taken in your lovely green garden before. An added bonus for me.
My thoughts, prayers and thanks go out to everyone who has taken part in our Armed Forces. and with their families.

    • Thank you Kendal. I think Memorial Day was founded here in the US after the Civil War when so many lives were lost in the war and it was so very tragic because the men that died were from the north and the south. I myself recognize all those who serve in the military on Memorial Day because they all put their lives on the line for their country. Strictly speaking, Memorial Day is for the fallen men and women while serving their country and Veteran’s Day in November is for all veterans. I think it is wonderful to give our thoughts prayers to everyone who has served and their families…..just as you said above. It is because of them, that we are able to take photos of lovely Sasha dolls on a beautiful, sunny day. 🙂

The background your saw is new and your keen eye caught it! I took it from the front of the house and on the porch railing where you can see the front lawn in the background. It required a little balancing but seemed to work well. I am trying to show more variety in locations now that the weather has improved! 🙂 xxx

p.s. I will be posting another SCW post soon.

  2. A lovely post and a beautiful girl too Ginger. Your little Mae is so pretty with her ochre eyes, her blond hair and her pretty dress. The perfect choice 🙂

  4. A beautiful girl to help us remember all the sacrifice that has been made in our continuing fight for freedom and justice.
