Two Studio Doll Renditions

image
I have been remiss not to introduce these beautiful Sasha studio doll renditions created by Janet Myhill-Dabbs before today.  I hope your enjoy them! 🙂 xxx

This beautiful girl is the Berliner. ❤

Lovely outfit with pink slip, long knickers, wool knitted socks and leather boots. 🙂

With her coat. 🙂

Beautifully soft, soulful painting on this previous waif. ❤

A closer view. 🙂

This is an existentialist boy named Bob. Bob was my boy for a few years. He was a waif with falling hair, lots of playwear and loose stringing. Thanks to Janet, Bob is much improved now. 🙂

A very carefree hair style for this free-spirited boy. 🙂

Wonderful outfit of corduroy jacket and trousers, knitted purple top, knitted socks and leather shoes. Bob’s puppy has been with him since he arrived at Sasha Shangri-La. 🙂

A handsome boy. 🙂

Lovely face painting. ❤

Bob and I both thank you for visiting us today. Also, the Berliner joins us to send you hugs and happy wishes for the week to come. 🙂 xxx

  1. Wonderful pair of dolls by Janet, I love that girl, Berlin… er , I think Berlin would be a good name 🙂 , there’s something about her face and hair, she looks so soft and i love her outfit and the boy Bob, love his hair and face paint looks quite serious but sweet and another great outfit. Many thanks for sharing these lovely studio style dolls :)xxx

  2. Two fabulous interpretations of the studio dolls by the very talented Janet who takes so much care – from the painting, to the hair and of course fabulous clothing. Very special to have in your collection Ginger. I also love that Bob has been ‘revived’ so to speak.

  3. How lovely to see Berlin and Bob, looking at your photos of them has reminded me of the time I spent with each one. I really do love interpreting these Studio dolls, each one presenting a new hunt for materials and close study of the original face painting techniques. I am so happy to hear they give you such joy my dear friend ❤

    • Hi Janet. I am glad you enjoyed the post and remembering your search during the creative time you had them. I am sorry to be so delayed in posting them since they have been here for months now. I have loved seeing them every day and they are standing out where I can clearly see them and grouped with your other studio renditions that I am fortunate to have adopted. A lovely sight to see! Thank you my friend. ❤ xxx

  4. Very naughty indeed! You’ve had them for months and not introduced them to us until now! How could you do that???
I’ve always been attracted to Sasha Morgenthaler’s studio Berlin doll with that outstanding outfit. I well remember when Cindy of Pinetstreetstudios made a copy of that outfit many years ago now on eBay and how I wished that I could have won it.
How very lucky are you then to have your very own copy of not only the outfit but the doll too by the wonderfully talented Janet.
Loving Bob. What a great renovation and customisation too. A super second chance in life for him. Very smart outfit as well, especially that cord jacket! Great how Sasha gave some of her studio dolls the modern look.
Wishing that you could bring ALL your Sasha Dolls over with you so that I could meet them in person at the Sasha Celebration Weekend! As Julie Andrews sings in the film ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Ah, wouldn’t that be lov-er-ly!’

    • I know, the time slipped by me and though I see them daily, I had not taken the time to photograph them. Thank goodness I have now shared them! 🙂

I have admired the Berliner too for some time and just love the beauty in her face. She feels like an old soul to me. Now, Bob is quite a different boy and he is very expressive and well dressed. I wish I could bring all of my dolls to the Sasha Celebration weekend too. It would be “lov-er-ly” to share them all. I am guessing that my suitcase will probably contain more dolls than clothes. It is so exciting to think about who will come with me. It won’t be long now! ❤ xxx

  5. What a lovely pair of dolls by the very artistic Janet, I do love Berlin in particular, the whole look from her hair, pretty facepainting to her outfit. Thank you so much for sharing them with us Ginger. I guess we should say “better late than never!”
Have a lovely week and keep safe and warm!

  6. Your two Studio Renditions are amazing Ginger! Only Janet could pull this artistic ability off in true SM form. Janet’s attention to detail in amazing from the gorgeous eyes, to the hair and ensembles. They are certainly a wonderful addition in your collection. I am very happy they are apart of your Sasha clan.

    • Hi Cathy and thank you for the lovely comment! I am very happy too! I think both of these renditions will be on display at the Sasha Festival in Rochester along with other studio doll renditions. We will have to have our cameras ready to capture such a unique and wonderful display to share with others! 🙂 xxx
