I took a day off from work today to expand my leave for the Labor Day holiday weekend from three days to four days. I plan to go outdoors but a blanket of fog has settled in and so I thought why not take random photos indoors while waiting on the sun to break through the foggy line between earth and sky. 🙂
The first photo is of the resident NPs waiting in a row. Hello girls! ❤
Now we see a line of 1968 children with the exception of the blonde boy Finn on the far right who is a 1967 child. ❤
A bit snug here but much loved children in front of my much loved course dolls. ❤
Mostly Gotz girls here excepting Baby Pixie and three of Janet Myhill Dabbs’ renditions. ❤
The lovely Hazel (blonde) and Marcie (both Gotz no navels) and the handsome Ryder (straight nose Gotz) sweetly look over the heads of the resident toddlers. Dear little Esther has yet to be introduced on the blog but she will be soon. ❤

My bedside buddies are sweet Gertie and Lizzy that were repainted by Janet. Please excuse the bedroom clutter that seems to always be present where the dolls live and are loved. ❤

Lastly, it is shoe week on facebook so I thought I would share my solution to Sasha shoe storage with you. 🙂
These are fishing tackle boxes that I found in our local Walmart some time ago. I was in that department with my dear husband who loves to fish. I bought two to try out and they are wonderful! They are also inexpensive, are see-through on all sides, stackable, portable, very accessible (in local Walmart and Magic Mart too), and importantly, they have adjustable partitions to move and fit your shoes, boots, etc. I now have a lot of these boxes and they work very well and snap open and shut easily. 🙂

There are other Sasha dolls behind the NPs and the 1968 children that I do bring out and enjoy. I noticed that I have named all of the Sasha dolls and only a few of the other dolls. For me, that is very telling about where my heart connection lies. ❤ xxx

Shoes! I am so pleased to see a lovely large collection Ginger 😉 makes me feel more normal! 😉 The fishing tackle boxes are a very good way to store them with the moveable partitions making it easier to store like with like.

I thought of you when I posted this because I know you like seeing “real” time photos. After I posted this, I found your shoe post from yesterday which was lovely. I had seen your other FB shoe posts of your shoes and loved that too! So I think a lot of us are giving some thought to our shoes now and that is really nice to see. 🙂
Thank you for the lovely comments about the other dolls like Kathe Kruse. Most of my collection has remained with me and it just flexed and made room for my Sashas. I still love my Kruse dolls and other dolls too. Most of them are antique cloth dolls with other interesting antique dolls made of wood, bisque, wax, mache and composition. The dolls I prize the most seem to have handpainted facial features and especially the handpainted eyes! ❤
I went out to take those early photos and the dew was so heavy that my feel were soaked before I could take a shot. So, Plan "B" is that I am planning to go back out again in an hour or so. Thank you for the lovely weekend wishes! ❤ xxx
Ginger you have the most beautiful children and its also nice to see your others too and even more its lovely to get a little glimpse into the life of a friend with your bedside table and lamp, pictures and other paraphernalia which is like mine!! Love and hugs xxx

I’m delighted you showed us your other dolls – you’ve got an amazing collection of Kathe Kruse dolls – they’re beautiful. I have books about the Kathe Kruse dolls but have not got one, on my wishlist for ‘one day’ when funds allow. The Sasha dolls are of course wonderful and I’m glad to see Finn sneaked onto the end of the 1968 group (he is special to me because he is one of the first Gregor dolls I ever knitted for – if we do make it to a Sasha festival in the US next year or the year after I hope you will bring him to the festival for us to meet at last).

Finn will always be my number one boy! He still has and loves the beautiful items you knitted for him that Christmas and the blue pants too! It was also his first handmade Christmas gift ever! So Finn has very special and dear feelings for DollMum. ❤ So far, I have been to two festivals and Finn has gone to each one. So, Finn will be there next year in Rochester, NY. I do so hope you can make it, fingers crossed! 🙂 xxx

Hi Louise and thank you for writing. Yes, that is the downside of group photos, no individual attention to details. The first redhead NP on the left, as you look at the photo, is Zoey, a 1967 girl. Little Esther was adopted in May during my trip to California. I just recently took her from the tube and put her with her toddler siblings. Poor thing still has the netting on her face and she is not happy with Mommy neglecting her. Gracie is also missing the blog posts. Well, I will get to you all very soon my little ducks!! 🙂 xxx

It’s always a treat when a normal weekend can be extended, so restful and relaxing giving us more time for some Sasha play! I used to love these special Bank Holiday weekends when teaching making the actual week so much shorter and less demanding and tiring.
Like you, all my dolls are out on ‘touchable’ display….although gathering the dust by the handfuls here (as can so often be seen in my blog photos!) as WE are not so keen on wasting time keeping it under control when we can enjoy more ‘doll play’ instead.
It is so hard not to love each and every doll shown here, they are all so beautiful BUT one wide faced NP especially especially caught my eye in this post, it’s the wide faced brunette (second in from the left in the first picture) in the Ruthsdoll’s red dress and pinafore!

That wide faced Brunette NP is Jessie and she came to me, off of Shelly’s site, with her great bobbed hair cut. I love it! I took her with me on the California trip and Cassie gave her a much needed spa treatment. Her hair is non-falling which does encourage me to style her hair more than I would if she had fragile hair. I am happy you like her too! 🙂
Yes, I love Janet’s repaints very much and have been fortunate to adopt a few. Gertie is at the top of the list of Janet’s creations though they are each lovely in their own special way . ❤ xxx
