Mi…Mi…Mi…Mi………Mimi

First, I thought it would be appropriate to show this very sweet photo of a darling little Gotz ponytail girl taken by Sarah Williams. When Sarah posted this photo, she was adopting her out and I was either not quick enough or did not have the financial where-with-all but the result was, she was adopted by another…

image
Moving forward in time, I saw that Dee in the Village had adopted this dear little girl and I learned her name was Mimi. Moving forward in time again, Dee is looking to adopt Mimi out and, this time, I was the lucky Mommy! πŸ™‚

Mimi has a unique, slightly pouty, slightly sad expression that is so endearing that it enlists your heart and you must pick her up often!!! ❀

If you look to her left side of the mouth, you will see a few small lines or impressions. Β A similar line or impression was also found near my Marcie’s Β mouth and I understand that they were made when the head was removed from the mold. Β So, I am referring to them as “birth marks” and I have one too on my arm. ❀

Dee sent Mimi in this sensational, casual outfit including the white patent tennis shoes/trainers. I like this look very much!

Mimi is a go-getter and she motivates others around her, including me! πŸ˜‰

She captured my heart right out of the box. ❀

Hi Mimi so nice to see you! πŸ™‚

Do you remember when I posted this photo of Whitney wearing one of Sarah’s beautiful creations? At that time I also won a second dress from Sarah with thoughts of Mimi in my mind. Β  I shared this with Sarah because it seemed so fitting that Sarah’s one time Sasha doll should now be wearing a dress made by her. πŸ™‚

Mimi selected pink ribbons for her hair. And oh, those pouty pink lips! πŸ™‚

Mimi also selected this rag doll to love. ❀

I reallly like the ponytail Gotz girls and Mimi is the first Gotz ponytail to reside here at Sasha Shangri-La. πŸ™‚

I hope you have enjoyed Mimi’s story in this post. πŸ™‚

I am very happy Mimi is here and wearing her new dress! Thank you Dee and thank you Sarah! ❀

As a parting gift, a watercolor (computer created) of Mimi for you to enjoy. Have a wonderful week to come and, for the sake of pure joy, hug a Sasha that is close to you. πŸ™‚ xxx

  1. So pleased to see Mimi’s arrived safely in her new home. She is a darling girl and I was very happy to have bought her from Sarah. Her pouty face and lovely ponytail look are just so gorgeous but she decided that I did not give her enough attention and wanted to travel to new places, so she was over the moon when I told her that Ginger of Sasha Shangri La wanted to adopt her and be her new mum!

I barely had time to answer Ginger’s request before she was writing out her change of address notes! I am so happy she’s found a loving home and that dress is just so her! :)xx

    • Hi Dee! We are so happy here with Mimi’s arrival and I think she will get a lot of attention with her great energy and excitement! It is very catching too and she is surrounded with sisters. πŸ™‚

I am glad you like her new dress. I love Sarah’s outfits and this one looks perfect on her. Thank you so much Dee! ❀ xxx

  2. What a sweet girl, I remember when Sarah put her up for sale and was pleased that Dee adopted her so that we could see her on her blog. And now that she’s left the Sasha Village, I’m happy again to see her here, she is a dear little thing with a super pout….she will fit in well at Sasha Shangri-La, Ginger! πŸ™‚

  3. Mimi is such a cutie, I love her pouty face so much Ginger and also her beautifully painted eyes. It was nice to see Marcie and Whitney seeking in on the post too. How amazing that you are finally her mommy after her long journey to you, that makes me smile ❀

    • Hi Janet and thank you! Yes, it is amazing and affirms my belief that you should not give up when you miss out on a special doll. You just never know when you might get another chance to make that adoption. I am smiling too! ❀ xxx

  4. im SO glad mimi has gone to live with you , i love her pouty face im a bit sad that i dont have her anymore and instead i have a new garden fence ! (which isnt quite the same) ….the dress looks perfect on her πŸ™‚ and whitney looks lovely too xxxx

    • Hi Sarah and thank you so much! I am sure your garden fence is very nice and necessary too though I agree with you, it isn’t quite the same as having Mimi….Both of your dresses look perfect on the girls. I am always thrilled if I am able to buy a dress from you because I am normally too late and then I admire the photos. Thank you again for Mimi, the outfit, and your kind wishes. πŸ™‚ xxx

  5. Isn’t it lovely when we get ‘second chance buys’ with dolls that we originally wanted but unfortunately previously missed out buying?
I’ve been lucky with this in about four instances so far, Gotz toddler Bea and Shelly customised Belle being two of them.

Like you I am very taken with the Gotz Pony-tailed girls and had three of them over the years, an early yellow eyed and a brunette and a blonde slate eyed although unfortunately all have now been adopted. I always think that, that extra little detail of the tuft of hair at the back neckline is quite fascinating.

Vintage-sasha’s outfits are top of my seamstresses list too. Each and everyone is always made from top quality materials and a perfect fit and design.

Adore the watercoloured photo version of Mimi here. Just stunning!

    • Yes it is lovely to get a second chance and, knowing that, really gives me hope that maybe one day there will be another opportunity to adopt that special Sasha that got away. πŸ™‚

Yes, I should have photographed her tuft of hair that looks so nice when the ponytail is in place. I will try to do that the next time Mimi is photographed. that tuft is a charming and special attribute of a ponytail girl. I would love to see photos of your beautiful ponytail girls that are now adopted out. Especially the early yellow eyed girl which I have not seen many ponytail girls. So nice!

I am happy and lucky to be able to add a Vintage Sasha dress to the collection. They are all very wonderful. So nice that you like the watercolor too. Thank you Kendal for the lovely and thoughtful comments. ❀ xxx

  6. I just came back to have another look at Mimi because she is so adorable. I think it’s amazing that you all know one another so well that you have a second chance at adopting a doll like this. It’s really heartwarming. Congratulations on your new girl!
    ~Verity-Kate

    • Hi Verity-Kate! Thank you for the lovely comments. I agree that it is amazing that I have had a second chance to adopt Mimi! I am sohappy that she is here with us on the farm! She is a darling girl. πŸ™‚ xxx
