Brigitte’s New Existentialist Outfit

image
Brigitte is a CI Sasha Studio doll. She was painted by Sasha Morgenthaler in her studio located in Switzerland. I am not certain when she was painted since sadly, the markings on her foot have mostly rubbed off. 😦

She came to me in a replaced dress and you have seen her redressed in a lovely ivory or cream colored corduroy dress that was just perfect for her. Β It was made by the very talented Brigitte Schwitter. This beauiful outfit that Brigitte models today was also wonderfully made by Brigitte Schwitter in the existentialist style. πŸ™‚

Brigitte made the lovely golden sweater, animal-print scarf and the brown fine corduroy slacks. πŸ™‚

The outfit also included these wonderful leather slip-on shoes. πŸ™‚

Plus, Brigitte made this gorgeous wool coat that fits her perfectly. ❀

I love this coat and everything about it. Wonderful buttons and pockets! πŸ™‚

  1. I have loved seeing Brigitte in her existentialist outfit and looking at all the beautiful detail that went into her clothes. I love the colours and mixture of fabrics. She looks great as an Existentialist child!

    • Hi Janet and thank you! Brigitte S. put together a fantastic outfit for this Studio girl which is her namesake. ❀

It is so nice to try different outfits and I was surprised at how much I loved this outfit on her. I am a big pinafore fan and it would take something very special to move me way from my normal preference. I love this outfit! πŸ™‚ xxx

  2. I just LOVE how this charming doll (Brigitte) can change her looks from the original delightful old fashioned child in her studio length dress and pinafore to this new trendy ‘Girl of our times’ appearance.
How wonderfully versatile is she??? Bet that you’re even more thrilled (if that’s poss?) to own her!

    • Thank you Kendal for the lovely comments. Overall, I have not been very creative with dressing most of the studio dolls and I think it is because they came wearing their original, or at least vintage outfits, that seemed perfect for them and so I focused on dressing the vinyl Sashas which is such fun to do with so many opportunities available. πŸ™‚

I started to think differently when Gracie was adopted and she arrived wearing a dear, replaced baby outfit but Gracie’s personality is not that of a baby and she has always seemed to be more of a toddler to me. Fortunately, I discovered Thu Cuc Faes’ studio outfits at that time plus received beautiful outfits gifted by Norvell, Gracie’s godmother, and also was able to fit her in outfits by Ginny of APFS and Diane Duke. This was great fun to do! Then Ben was adopted and also Gigi and the redressing fun continued with them.

Lastly, Brigitte was adopted and she with her “C” body is a perfect studio model. Since Brigitte came redressed in a nice dress, but one not becoming to her, I reached out to Brigitte Schwitter and Ruth Hartley, since I have seen their beautiful creations for Sasha Studio dolls, and asked them to help redress Brigitte. The results have been fantastic and this particular existentialist outfit really caught me by surprise. I love it on Brigitte and you are very correct to say that I am even more happy with this darling girl than ever before! She has totally captured my heart. ❀ xxx

  3. Love this outfit on your girl Brigitte. That mustard-y yellow sweater looks lovely on her as does the rest of the outfit.
a very existentialist girl for sure.
Great water colour photo at the end πŸ™‚ xxx

    • Thank you Dee! I am happy you like Brigitte’s new outfit too. The colors look wonderful on her with her warm coloring. I was hoping you would see the watercolor at the end because I know how much you love them! πŸ™‚ xxx

  4. Brigitte is amazing Ginger! I can’t get over those beautiful eyes and upper lashes. So true to SMs technique. And the lovely shade of her wig sets off her deep coloring. Perfect! What a lucky girl to have such a very fine coat too. I really enjoyed these photos Ginger. And now I shall go back and take another peek.

    • Hi Cathy and thank you! Brigitte’s wig is a very nice color for her but it is thinning and so I am careful when dressing her and I generally leave her hair alone. I am glad you liked her outfit. πŸ™‚ xxx

  5. It was a great pleasure to sew clothes for Brigitte. I am glad that they fit and that you like them Ginger. It was a bit risky, I was not sure if you would go for a change πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Brigitte so very much! The outfit fits perfectly and I love it! It was risky and you have helped me to see Brigitte differently and I absolutely love this look for her! Perfect. πŸ™‚ xxx

  6. Brigitte is such a special little girl. Her eyes are simply stunning! She is perfect in every way and I love her! I really like the outfit Brigitte has made, it suits her very well!!
