Sasha Shangri-La And Lance Remembered ❤️

Hello from Cow Creek which has been very busy in recent weeks and now has quieted down for a much needed respite before the holidays. I am so very far behind in blogging comments and posting too of course. I have missed you my friends.  So, I thought I would write a note to let you know I am well and enjoying the peace and quiet here on the farm and taking time to reflect and renew. 😊

I picked up Janet Myhill-Dabbs at the airport on Monday, October 9th.  It was a sensational visit!  I will write about those fantastic happenings later. 😊

Before that, our family had a long awaited Memorial gathering for our son Lance on Saturday, October 7th. It was held at a family cemetery not far from here and it was a time to remember Lance and to grieve with beloved family members and to say our goodbyes. I felt the hand of the Lord there in our midst on that beautiful Fall day.  Lance is with us and I believe we will see him again one day. ❤️

Taking a loving cue from Ronnie, I have also found a Gregor that I have named Lance to honor our son’s memory.  He is wearing a wonderful leather tool belt with handy tools that Ronny generously gifted to me for him to wear.  ❤️  Lance’s work was in construction and he liked working with his hands. He was a gifted artist as well. ❤️

I hope you enjoy these few photos of Lance. He is so very precious to me. ❤️

Have a wonderful week!  😊 xxx

  1. What a lovely way to remember your son Lance. Your Gregor Lance looks all ready to get to work making things. I guess the first thing he might make is an easel for painting and drawing (his other talent) – I expect he would approve of Peggy’s 2017 Dress a Sasha entry as well as the Woodworker Gregor making bird boxes! I’m glad you’ve found a special doll to dedicate to Lance and have had a happy time with friendly visitors and family recently despite the unbearable sadness this year too.

  2. Lance is such a beautiful early Gregor, Ginger and a wonderful tribute to your son. I can imagine that perhaps we will see your Lance using his smart tools to create or to repair projects at Cow Creek. I will look forward to seeing him at work and at play.

  3. Such a sad loss but im glad you had your family memorial for Lance to remember better times and draw strength from one another. Little Lance is a sweet reminder. Hugs xxx

  4. Like you Ginger I lost my son when he was 19, yet my tribute to him wasn’t a Sasha doll, but a French Bebe that I named Stephanie. Now I have a second doll bearing the same name though not for the same reasons, since she came to me already named. I can’t change either of their names because both are of consequence, and thus I have two Stephanies.

    • Thank you Kendal. Even though I have named Sasha dolls after my grandmother (Adeline Pearl) and my mother (Mary Adeline), I was surprised at how much it helped to name this wonderful boy after Lance. I appreciate your understanding. ❤️ xxx

  5. Lance looks a fine doll to remember the real Lance by. I’m sure his memorial day was filled with sadness and also laughter when you all remembered him.
Sounds like you had a lovely meet up with Janet and other Sasha friends and I look forward to hearing about it when you have time.
Have a lovely weekend Dee xxx 🙂

  6. Such a lovely post Ginger. I cannot see the photos for some reason but I’m so glad that the Memorial Day for Lance went really well for you and your family.
I look forward to seeing your Lance Gregor and also hearing about the great visit you had with Janet.
Big hugs and lots of love
    Sharon xxxx
