The Goose Girl

This new arrival is a pale faced Gotz girl named Ani. Ani has a fondness for all animals which fits nicely into the rural life here at Sasha Shangri-La. She ran to meet the geese in the yard and wanted to play.  We nicknamed Ani the Goose Girl because it reminded us of of a girl in a Brother Grimms fairy tale titled “The Goose Girl”.  😊

Ani wants to fly but these geese are earth bound. 😉

“Oh how I wish we could soar in the sky” Ani sighed.

Ani’s dress was made by Kath Barnett.  Her shoes are from Sashapotamus.

“Well Mommy, let’s look around.”  Of course Ani, let’s take some photos.

The forsythia in bloom is a nice background.

A “moonshine” jug graces the porch rail.  Ani was puzzled about the corn cob stopper in the mouth of the jug. 😉

Daddy has completed his first lawn mowing of the year.  It smells heavenly. ❤

Welcome dear Ani to the farm on  Cow Creek.  You may spend a lot of time outdoors and enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. 😊

Ani and I want to thank you for visiting with us.  Today is Mother’s Day in the U.K. We want to take this opportunity to wish all mothers a very happy day. 😊

Ani is waving goodbye while petting her pet cow, a resident on Cow Creek. Have a great week everyone! 😊 xxx

  1. What a lovely and rare girl has now blessed you at Cow Creek. I love the way you have dressed Ani, such lovely colours against her pale skin, I especially love that big bow in her hair. One day maybe she will find a flying goose but then imagination goes a long way, when I was young we had a flying bunk bed!

    • Thank you Janet. I love the big bow too. We tried tying the ribbon both ways and the big bow won hands down! Imagination is a wonderful gift and as children, our imaginations were always encouraged by reading and by gifted teachers. I hold dear in my heart still today the very special teachers that gave of themselves to positively influence my life. ❤ xxx

  2. Ani is certainly a stunning pale skinned saucer eyed girl and what gorgeous long hair she has and which looks lovely with that ribbon tied in both of the ways.
Very pretty smocked dress. Especially like how the smocking has been done using the darker of the pattern’s colours.
Love that Canadian goose. Reminds me of the one term that I did a topic with my class children on Swans, Ducks and Geese which we followed up by visiting Martin’s Mere Wildlife Wetlands Centre and buying 10 pence bags of duck food to feed them with.
It was at Easter time and there were so many little ducklings, goslings and signets etc waddling around in a line after their mothers. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience too of watching the wildlife up close from the wooden hides and using binoculars and cameras provided.
Many thanks too for the Mothering Sunday wishes.

    • Thank you Kendal. Ani’s appearance is a sweet departure from most of the girls here on Cow Creek. She is endearing herself to me more and more. I love the diversity of colors represented by our Sasha dolls. ❤

What a wonderful memory of visiting the wildlife/wetlands area with your students. I am sure it was a fantastic time watching with binoculars while hidden and taking photos and also getting to feed the swans, ducks and geese. A very “hands on” learning experiences which is the best in my mind. The students are certain to remember and appreciate that special and enjoyable field trip for a lifetime. 😊 xxx

  3. Such a pretty girl and wearing a gorgeous dress. She is another lovely girl to come and live with you at Sasha Shangri La Ginger. I do like the photos of her riding her goose friend, I can imagine she would like to take flight and soar in the air above Cow Creek on the back of her softly feathered friend!
Thanks for sharing your sweet new girl Ginger. I hope you have a lovely week ahead 🙂
    xx

    • Thank you Sharon. I can imagine Ani flying high over a Cow Creek too. It would be a lovely view. She is very different from her sisters here and I like her uniqueness. Thank you for the lovely week’s wishes. 😊 XXX

  4. What a lovely new member of the Cow Creek Crew. Ani the Goose girl is very lovely with her pale skin and long blonde hair.
She looks gorgeous in her floral dress riding the goose. xxx
